Stayed 3 nights - Breakfast was excellent and staff very friendly and helpful. Room was large but a little tired but was very good value. We ate in the hotel for 2 nights in the evening - Food again was excellent and so was the service and varation of menu . The only downside was a family with 2 small...

We stayed for one night in this excellent hotel. The booking procedure was quick and simple, the staff were friendly and the hotel standard was extremely good. Comfort and cleanliness were both of a high standard. In my opinion our night's stay at this hotel was excellent value for money. There was some renovating going on when we were there...

This isn't a bad hotel at all, room was large and clean and bed was comfy! Had a drink here in the evening, was a little expensive. Didn't have breakfast so cant comment on that. Overall a nice stay. Would stay again

Four of us went to the Royal Victoria on Thursday for a two night Wowcher offer. We had seen a mixture of reviews about this hotel stating that the decor and fittings were a little tired, which, if you are being picky about has some truth - but we can only say that our stay was excellent in very clean,...

The staff here were ok. The room and hotel were not modern in the least. The room we had was very odd in the fact that it had a downstairs to the room where we were told the maids would stay in the past or children. We never ate here so I cannot comment but I believe we had wifi....

I'm sure it was once a magnificent hotel BUT it is now very very tired. Breakfast with a nice view of the sea was ok but very expensive. The rooms are big but sparse and the beds are very small. The lift was not working. They are renovating the outside and should do the inside too

This was our second visit to this hotel this year. We had booked and paid for 5 nights over the Christmas period. We had travelled up from Devon and having checked in earlier had spent the evening with friends. We returned to the hotel at 11pm and duly went to our room, looking forward to retiring as it had been...

I was concerned when I read recent reviews for this hotel. I went with 6 friends for the New Year. The hotel is undergoing refurbishment and when you are a guest it can be annoying. We were able to compare rooms and they went from a tad tired to wow great refurb. Having said that, the 'tired' rooms were comfortable,...
