The whole house done out in medieval theme, making an very interesting stay. The hosts very welcoming & helpful. Situation not the best, though a big plus the adequate parking. NOT CLOSE to Town centre as perhaps suggested, walking. Breakfast faultless and a good choice. We would certainly make a return visit.

I stayed here with my partner for one night and as soon as we arrived we felt extremely welcome, like a home away from home. Ricky and Jane are lovely, fun, positive and friendly people and it was a joy to share their home for a night. The place itself is so full of character, with nice little touches everywhere,...

Had a lovely weekend in this quaint, little house situated in the heart of the Old Town. I noticed someone had written a bad review on here about the lodge, and Id like to emphasise how completely untrue it is. Jane and Ricky were the perfect hosts for the whole duration of our stay. We couldn't have asked for a...

I found the service and the facilities at the Medieval Lodge to be absolutely incredible. Jane and Ricky are incredible people with a careful eye for detail and making sure their guests are comfortable. The rooms are all fully catered, I never once had need for any toiletry or luxury. I was always met with a warm smile. The breakfasts...

In terms of access there is no parking at the B&B and you can't park in the narrow street it is located in, so you have to park near-by and walk the last bit. The B&B, I think, dates back to the 15th century so be prepared for lots of low ceilings and twisty stairs, you have to remember to...

Just came back this morning from a brilliant stay at this very warm and friendly B and B. Made to feel very relaxed and as other reviewers have said the little things made this stay very pleasant. It was my partners birthday and the wine choclates and card were a lovely touch. Also the toiletries in the bathroom was a...

Room has very dated decor and furnishings. Smelly. Poor quality Lidi food for breakfast, owners don't sense when to chat and when guests would like to be left to eat in peace. Way too many rules - about 15 notices in the room about what not to do. Felt most unwelcome - entrance is through the owner's lounge.

“All of the rooms available at the lodge are built to accommodate any sort of guests. I had the pleasure of staying in each of the rooms while abroad (by my own decision), and found them all to be spectacular. The En Suite room was luxurious and posh! The double room, where I spent most of my trip, was comfortable and quiet. The twin room was comfortable and homey. I never found myself cramped or otherwise uncomfortable the entire time!”
