YHA Brighton is a brand new hostel that will be ready to open its doors on 17th November 2014. The former hotel is undergoing a huge refurbishment this summer ready for the winter opening. The hostel has an excellent location, right by the sea front with incredible views of the Brighton Pier and the sea. It's situated close to all major transport links as well as the vibrant hear of the city centre. YHA Brighton will have 151 beds in 51 rooms - all of these are en-suite for your comfort. We even have some premium rooms available, featuring king-sized beds, roll top baths and spectacular sea views. Enjoy a delicious meal and a relaxing drink in our restaurant and bar, and socialise with your fellow travellers in our communal areas. YHA Brighton is the ideal base to explore this interesting city, from visiting historic buildings and cultural museums to enjoying a traditional British seaside location.

The YHA in Brighton is a really gorgeous hostel. It used to be a hotel...Because of the Corvid-19 pandemic, I was allowed to have a private en-suite room, even tho' I had only paid the dorm price! So my room was ensuite (with a bath as well as a shower), a tv, an armchair, a wardrobe and I could lock it up. Lovely curtains too. The self-catering facilities were reasonably good as well, and there was a large lounge and dining area where you could eat your food. Limited cafeteria facilities were available (again because of Corvid), a bar, coffee and cakes etc. Also free apples! Needed using...Only on my last morning were we told that we could no longer use communal areas to eat our own food - because of the pandemic restrictions. My room was warm as well with an openable window. If anything it was too warm during the night altho' I should have got up to turn off the rather noisy heating system. During normal times, Brighton is a great place to visit and the hostel is ideally located 2 mins walk from the seafront and pebbly beach; also the pier! The staff at the hostel were very friendly and helpful. Hand sanitiser was available on reception when I arrived. Plenty of soap and even towels available in my private room.

Staff great, facilities great, price great, location great - This has to be my favourite hostel in the UK. It is a hostel and not a hotel so no tea/coffee facilities in your room, however BYO and use the kitchen.

Booked in at the YHA Brighton after being let down at the last minute by our previously booked accommodation. Never stayed at a YH before, and for the price wasn’t expecting a lot, but the few nights there more than surpassed expectation! The rooms are as they are pictured - pretty basic but completely serviceable with reasonably comfortable beds and a very good bathroom with powerful hot shower. Towels were provided, although we hadn’t been expecting this, so a nice surprise. The other real positive was that the WiFi in the room worked faultlessly, allowing us to use a laptop to watch iplayer. It is a little noisy at night, mainly noise from other guests, although an intruder alarm from a nearby building was going off all through our second night there. Having said this, earplugs are provided and the website advises that this may not be the quietest of YHs, so you can’t complain! We made good use of the comfortable, welcoming communal areas and absolutely loved the chilled out nature of these spaces and the chance to meet and chat to a real mix of other holiday-makers and travellers. The bar and food was very reasonably priced and the board games and table football a hit with my son. We’re absolutely converted to the idea of YHs and looking for our next break, staying in one very soon!

We love staying at YHA Brighton as it is the perfect location for exploring Brighton and right next to the sea. We love going off peak (Sunday-Tuesday) as Saturdays as with all other Brighton hotels are exorbitantly expensive. The room we had was clean and spacious with a nice view of the Old Steine. Staff are welcoming and friendly. You won’t find a better room in Brighton for the price and you support YHA’s charitable work with young people. My main criticism would be it was a bit noisy with people getting home after going out but you’d expect this from a city centre hotel. The shower was also a fiddly but we eventually got it to the right (not scalding temperature).

Me and my partner stayed in a double room with ensuite bathroom. The room very much resembled a hotel room and not a hostel. It was a very clean, comfortable bed, and spotless bathroom. Towels were provided along with hand soap. The location was excellent - we walked everywhere and you felt secure as doors were locked after specific times and only those with key cards are allowed entrance. Overall, we would both definitely recommend and stay here again.
