We travelled in January as part of a Dinner, B&B package. Wow, Just Wow. The beds were the most comfortable I've ever slept in at a hotel. The bathroom was stunning even the basic was lovely (our friends paid for the upgrade and serious bath envy was happening!) Felt very spoilt. We had dinner & breakfast in the restaurant and...

We had B&B for one night in March. Hotel was a haven of comfort and style in'superior room' at a reasonable price. (£150). Big room, 'Pol Roget', swish bathroom with r.top bath and big shower. Bar was luxurious and markup on wine in restaurant accordingly (3-4 times wine merchant prices) but regrettably this is prob par for course and they...

I visited here with my girlfriend for a short break and had a fab time in the hotel. It's very well situated close to the beach and pier and no more than 10/15 mins walk from the railway station. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very large and clean. I would visit here again and recommend...

Treated my best friend to Afternoon Tea here and it was absolutely wonderful. The staff were fantastic and very attentive and polite. Special mention to Saffron who could not do enough for us! As it was my best friends birthday, she gave us a complimentary glass of champagne each which was an amazing touch! She made us feel extremely welcome...

Had a brilliant afternoon tea, with friends at the hotel. Very relaxed and set at your pace. End up spending a couple of hours there, lost track of time 😀😀. Saffron was our server, friendly and very professional. Highly recommend

This hotel is in a great location right next to the seafront in Brighton. Got a steal of a last minute deal online for a double room and 3 course meal in the bistro. Highly recommend their food - always good quality and well presented. The room was up the stairs in the courtyard. A 'cosy' room! The bathroom was...

First impression, it is very dimly lit. To read the menu, I had to use the torch on my mobile phone. I noticed others struggling to use the night lights on their tables. The restaurant was noisy so one had to speak loudly to get oneself heard. The starter courses, Chicken Liver Parfait and Pate Maison were both very good....

Stayed just one night in a standard twin room. The bed was really comfortable and it was great to be supplied with decent pillows. It was also very quiet as the hotel is located down a side street away from the very noisy seafront. However, as the room looked over the internal courtyard which has loads of tables and chairs...

Stayed on Saturday night, spent £320 on a junior suite. The bath was dirty the furniture was knackered and despite emailing the hotel I have been completely brushed off. The restaurant was ok, nothing special.. the place is not what it once was and I feel it's now trading on an ever dwindling reputation. Find somewhere nicer to stay

Celebrating a friend's birthday with afternoon tea. We were looked after superbly by Saffron. She was fantastic and kept us supplied with tea, explained all the sandwiches and cakes and generally made sure we had a lovely experience. Great value for money and top class service.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel du Vin Brighton is situated in the Lanes conservation area, a pebbles' throw from the seafront. Its 49 bedrooms are housed in a collection of eccentric Gothic revival and mock Tudor buildings erected, appropriately by a wine merchant on the site of an old inn. Among many interesting features are a heavily carved staircase and bizarre gargoyles, while the original double-height hall now houses the wine bar and Laroche tasting room. The perfect venue for a picturesque wedding or party is the impressively large and airy Dome room. For the best tankered of local ale, Pub du Vin is one of Brighton city center's treasures with its classic pub dining. Out with the Brighton hotel is the wonder and inspiring town itself, with quaint streets dotted with fabulous shops, and of course the famous pier and promenade. ... more   less
