I stayed for 4 nights at the Amsterdam Hotel on the first floor with a balcony and a sea view. Of course being above the bar, it was noisy but it also meant to me that I was part of the major celebrations of Pride...More
Small room, but very clean and neat with a simple and practical on-suite. Most staff fairly friendly and helpful. Good location right near the sea-front. Breakfast dining area was a bit dirty and dusty, which was disappointing considering how nice it had seemed until then....More
Independent hotel in a cracking location, more or less opposite the pier. The layout and age of the building means lots of stairs, smallish rooms and a confusing layout; not a problem as such in my view, just be aware if you like hotels with...More
Came here the weekend, the first time we came in for a drink and food the bar maid was really nice , chatted and recommended places to go to on the evening. Then when we went back in to order more drinks we were ignored...More

Brighton and Hove is probably the most unfriendly city in the UK towards car owners. If you can, avoid taking a car into Brighton. Use public transport. A 24 hour parking ticket that is useable only in area "C" where the hotel is situated will cost you £8.00 for twenty-four hours. You can but this from the hotel - but finding a space is not the easiest of tasks!. Public transport in Brighton is excellent and day passes are available for just the inner city (£2.50 per day,) the larger part of the city that costs a bit more and for anywhere that is about £7.00 from memory.
