From excellent wine recommendations to tattoo parlour references (we were looking for a good tattoo shop), Drakes was a brilliant experience. We booked it as a last minute stop over treat in Brighton. The staff were beyond lovely and treated us like friends. I've just been diagnosed with a disability and they were very helpful with giving us a car...

Booked here on a competitively priced package, and after a previous personal recommendation. Very pleased to say not at all disappointed. The staff were all marvelous, helpful, informative ( about the hotel and Brighton in general) and of the nothing-is-too-much-trouble variety. The room (attic) was on the small size, but everything was there, including shower AND bath. The views (sea)...

The staff were amazing - helping with luggage and brilliant on the - overpriced- bar. The " City View room at £200.00 per night ( no breakfast) Looked over a corrugated pigeon roost - Pigeon called all night and day. Bed OK but small stairs to downstairs en-suite - not good for a 6.6 husband. Staff left a card for...

On a visit to Brighton for the day, decided to stay overnight and was very lucky to find availability at Drakes. I must say what a fantastic hotel this is, the room we stayed in was lovely with many little touches which add d to the great experience, i.e. Robes, slippers, toiletries etc, but the most important thing was the...

Sadly we found the room (203) a little tired, particularly for the price, for example, grubby carpet, blinds and bathroom, old towels. Being an old building we could hear every footstep from the guests above meaning we were woken throughout the night. On the plus side staff were helpful and as we were facing the rear of the property there...

Fantastic hotel... definitely recommend. Very clean and comfortable. Everything you need in your room. Great location We stayed on the 1st floor with bath overlooking the sea. So beautiful. Fantastic bath tub!! We also opted for breakfast in bed. What a treat. Delicious. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Would visit again. Only downside is when you're paying over £200...

The first weekend away for hubby and I without our toddler since he was born and Drakes seemed spot on. Smart interior, courteous staff, great location. The problems only started on the morning we were due to leave when I pulled the duvet right back for the first time, as it had been tucked in by the housekeeping staff each...

Dear Jennie, I am sorry I was unable to resolve your complaint as you wished. As per our email conversation, we recorded the seasonal turning of the mattress on the morning of your arrival, and we know with certainty the sheets & duvet were clean. On your departure and reviewing pictures taken, we found the blood to be fresh with...

Really lovely hotel. Booked for an overnight stay and stayed in ying yang room. Lovely view from the room, nice little touches like white company amenity kit and rock with hotel logo. Bed comfy and linen gorgeous. Movies and sports free with code, however, I couldn't get this to work at all and couldn't get through to reception to ask.....

We were looking at Drakes to celebrate my husband' birthday with family members who live near Brighton. Two couples wanted to stay the night. We were told that we had to stay a minimum of 2 nights which really did not suit us.i am surprised to read other reviews stating they stayed for one night only. Also we did not want to...

We are sorry that we were unable to accommodate your group for your husband's birthday celebration. The 2 night stay policy on a Saturday night is a common practice in Brighton and is not exclusively a Drakes policy. We do offer one night on Saturdays on a last minute basis depending on our availability, so yes, some guests are able...
