The red room is spacious, comfortable, well-decorated and homely, the staff are friendly and welcoming, breakfast was excellent. The location is central and quiet, near to the abbey and station. I enjoyed the stay very much.

This is a truly excellent B&B with very high standards that should really be classified as a hotel. This place is much better than the pictures as has been decorated beautifully in tune with its Victorian heritage and has sumptuously large bedrooms and bathrooms. Kaaren and David are lovely hosts and made stay at Thornbank in November a memorable one....

I have been staying here every month for a couple of nights a time. I switched rooms so thought it worth a mention; The red room is cozy, feels warm and safe for a lady traveling alone or for a couple. When I was transferred to the blue room one stay I loved it... It has a cooler feel, is...

I wish I could have stayed here for a week. David was the ultimate host, warm and friendly (and cooked a wonderful breakfast!!) The bedroom with ensuite was absolutely lovely, with charming pictures and some lovely little touches in the room and bathroom. I will definitely be back, and with friends!! 5 Gold Stars!!! 😍

We stayed at Thornbank for 2 nights whilst attending a wedding in Sherborne. David and Karen were the perfect hosts. So kind and helpful and the breakfasts were totally delicious. We stayed in The Dairy which is a lovely self-contained room in the garden. Very peaceful and cosy with all the facilities you need. David and Karen gave us good...

David and Karin welcomed me in as a referral from a local hotel (The East-bury, which were full when I tried to check in) having found the original B&b I had booked to be dirty and infested with insects. David gave me a very quick, unasked for, reduction in price due to my predicament and distress. Breakfast is full continental...

My hosts were not expecting me as there was a glitch with my on-line booking and I arrived late. However, despite the late hour David and Kaaren welcomed me into their home. Thorn Bank is a beautiful home right in the centre of the town. My room was pretty and quiet. I had a great nights sleep and a good...

First time ever staying at a B&B. We booked both rooms for a necessary trip to Sherborne. Found David very welcoming, the rooms immaculate. Everything you could want, right in the middle of Sherborne. Breakfast was perfectly cooked and plenty of everything. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Sherborne.

I stayed in the Old Dairy at Thorn Bank for three nights every week for three months while relocating for work. The Old Dairy is a self-contained self-catering conversion with its own front door in the grounds of the main house. It comprises a large 'studio' style room with vaulted ceiling and has a king sized bed, corner kitchen, sofa,...
