We needed somewhere to sleep on the way to Cornwall, and stumbled over this very charming hotel, in Shaftesbury. They had two rooms available, so we asked to see them both. Ended up in number 16, which was very nice and cosy. Bathroom with a proper bath, everything spotless and clean, also very quiet. The hotel must have been very...

We stayed here as a wedding party. Superb big room with fabulous en-suite. Bar area really nice with good selection. Breakfasts all cooked fresh and absolutely outstanding. A really nice place to stay in the heart of Shaftsbury.

Booked a deal on lastminute.com - so probably got the smallest room (Room 8) - but well appointed with nice modern shower room. Very tasty meal in restaurant and good cooked breakfast - a bit pricy if it wasn't included in the room rate. Parking is in the long stay car park about 200 yards away so you need to...

Had a wonderful stay for three nights. Very nice rooms, great restaurant and bar, with very friendly, helpful staff. The hotel is in a great location in the town centre. There is free parking in a very close location, and also easy access to roads into the country.

We stayed here through a Mr and Mrs Smith hotel voucher. Our double room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. There was a huge bath and good power shower. Unfortunately our room was up several flights of stairs, which was okay for us,but if booking direct with the Hotel I would check this if you have a problem with stairs. The lady at...

Very comfortable, good sized rooms for a family. Friendly, excellent services. Great location in a beautiful town of the countryside. Nice stay for a weekend. Enjoy the breakfast and do the walking tours! Many pretty places to visit nearby by car as well.

We stayed for one night over the August bank holiday weekend. Being in the centre of town the hotel was easy to find and we were able to park right outside to unload. Parking is in the nearby supermarket car park using a permit supplied by the hotel. Car park has small spaces and is pretty tight. Take care if...

We purchased a voucher for a cream tea for 4 including a glass of sparkling wine and had the most amazing experience. The quantity and quality of our sandwiches, scones and desserts was unbelievable and our tea lasted from 1530 until 1800 hrs. This was worth considerably more than we paid and was one of our best afternoon tea experiences...

We found this hotel on the Mr & Mrs Smith website, and so we knew it would be good. We didn't realise just how good it would turn out to be. Situated centrally in the lovely town of Shaftesbury, it is perfect for a short stay. On arrival, we were thrilled to be upgraded to the suite in Room 4...
