My husband and I visited last weekend as a mini honey moon kind of thing. Check in went smoothly and we found our room fine. But as soon as we walked in there was a funny smell. As the decor was clearly dated we didn't...More
We took a 5-day break in Bournemouth last week and we chose the Britannia for the purpose that this hotel was advertised with wheelchair access, together with being close to the beach and not that far from the station.
In reality, all wheelchair accessible rooms...More

For what you are looking for I would say stay somewhere else. It's hit or miss with the rooms. I had a very nice room and so did two of our party, however there were other areas of the hotel that had less pretty rooms. Also we were on a weekend with mates, so more of a party weekend. A lot of others in the hotel were too. This potentially could put you off. I would say a lot of the hotel has been refurbished since some of the reviews were written. The hotel is in a really good position though. A stones throw from the sea and is good value for money.
