Having noted that there is another review on this hotel where somone had issues with a booking, it would seem only fair that I report a similar piece of shocking service. Having made a booking for a summer holiday and paid my deposit, many months later I received details that new owners had taken over and they could not accomodate...

the hotel was OK< a bit small. food was unimaginative at best and some meals were served "partially frozen". The bar was "ill managed" at best. We left with the intention of not returning and we haven't. They allow Pets and seemed like good people, however their experience at hotel management was none and their approach toward business was well,...

Stayed at the same hotel two years ago, it was great. However the new owners really did not know what they were doing. Firstly I could not get an answer from the door, eventually unhappy woman (owner) and large dog arrived. Instantly demanded payment for room (in cash). That was the last we saw of her. The rooms were not...

Had stayed here quite a few years ago and it was a typical B&B hotel but was always clean, friendly and affordable. The new owners are very friendly and helpful but unfortunately the hotel, despite the lick of paint, certainly shows it's age and could do with some updating. Although breakfast was plentiful, we felt the cost per room per...

Stayed at the Golden Sovereign as part of a stag do, Hotel is comfortable and only caters for stag groups. The owner Louise is friendly and more than happy to help with any questions you may have. Rooms are decorated to a mixed standard but for a stag do this is more than adequate. Food is good and the bar...
