The generous breakfast was not the only attraction of this medium sized family run hotel, but it was one of the things that impressed us. Fresh and dried fruit are served daily in their spacious dining area overlooking the garden, with local sausages one of the attractions of the cooked breakfast. Such were the portions, I had to ask for...

Just returned from a short stay at this excellent hotel . The welcome was warm and so was the room. Beautifully decorated and furnished room with a lovely new shower . The breakfast was lovely and the humour of the host was appreciated. We would certainly return.

Last minute booking for 1 night. Saw the reviews beforehand which on the whole were favourable. On arrival we were greeted by the owner and she was extremely friendly. Our room was room 8 and was perfect. It was beautifully furnished and a really good size. It is such a delight to have a room with real character. The bathroom...

The Winter Dene hotel is a beautiful building in a great location. Upon arrival I was offered a larger room as it was out of season and I was travelling alone which was great. Although I had the free upgrade there were a number of stairs to climb as I found myself on the top floor. The room was spacious...

We didn't feel very welcomed by the male host. We arrived at 17:00 to check in. We presented to the front door to ring the door bell. A man appeared from the rear of the house to met us on the steps. He didn't greet himself, he asked what I wanted in a irritated tone of voice. I advised I...

The Winter Dene has been welcoming guests for 21 years - with many returning many times to enjoy the friendly atmosphere, comfortable rooms and the good food that is served here. You did not enjoy your stay, which is a shame because we certainly do not judge people for their way of life. On another site you commented that your...

We booked a long weekend here at short notice due to needing to attend a funeral and wanting to combine the stay with the Bournemouth Air Show. We had room 4 which overlooks the rear garden and was lovely and spacious. The room had everything we needed and was very clean. The shower was great and the whole bathroom looked...

Brilliant little hotel in a great location. Great service and value for money. The beach is minutes away as is the centre of Bournemouth. 10 min drive from the airport and free parking. Loads of bars and restaurants close. The owners were great.

We stayed for 2 nights in late June in room 1, booked v short notice. The couple who run it are great, breakfast was a well oiled affair between kitchen & front of house with fab cook food and lovely fresh fruit on offer. We both said we'd stay again for the location but would ask for a room at...

Just off a busy roundabout but far enough back to be quiet, gardens are well presented so you can sit and enjoy, didn't have breakfast as I was out early should imagine it was good but maybe next time, I had a single room en-suite which was very comfortable
