From the moment we arrived at the Royal Exeter Hotel we were greeted with a warm and convivial reception that made us feel relaxed and ready to enjoy our weekend. Nothing is too much trouble for staff at the hotel from the knowledgeable mixologists serving the perfect cocktail to the sommelier who is willing to spend some quality time with...

It's been 3 years since we stayed at the Royal Exeter but, given the welcome by staff it felt we had never been away. Booked a 3 day stay over the New Year and felt relaxed throughout. The first good thing is the secure inclusive barrier entry parking. Be careful coming off the roundabout into the Hotel entrance, watching for...

Excellent location close to beach, shops and winter gardens. Family room 1 double and 2 proper single beds with plenty of room. Food ok. Breakfast cooked individually rather than under hot lights! Parking on site, not an extra charge unlike many Bournemouth hotels now. Clean and reasonable. Would stay here again.

Great Bar with awesome, talented and friendly Bar Staff/Cocktail Makers and a TWO HOUR Happy Hour!!! 1812 Restaurant provided first class food and friendly and timely service at Dinner, even when busy and the Full Monty breakfast was just the job. From the...

Nice spacious room and bathroom. Free parking and helpful staff. Breakfast was good and although we were advised that it might be noisy until 22.00 due to a live band downstairs, we barely noticed. This could be an issue in summer though.

This hotel is well located in Bournemouth, near the sea the town centre and amenities. It is very tired. The room we stayed in had a large poorly repaired damp patch above our bed. It was on a main road and this was noisy. However this paled into insignificance when the fire alarm (which we subsequently discovered was defective and had...

Great location and an excellent deal via Travel Zoo. Staff are fantastic, and a great cocktail bar with "happy hour" from 5 to 7pm. Freshly cooked breakfast and good sized rooms. this is our third visit and we will be making more

Hotel benifits from freindly helpful staff, the hotel itself is of an older style and well modernised with large rooms with high ceilings. Bedrooms are comfortable with good beds and reasonably good decor, as others have mentioned squeaky floors and single glazing coupled with busy road and hotel bar do not make for quiet rooms.
