Tried to take all my card details including 3 didget number on back even after payment made as well as this lied to keep deposit. Avoid at all costs terrible hotel and disgusting lady at reception who steals card details and then plays the language barrier to avoid trouble. Police are aware.

Hotel's Favourite
I wasn't quite sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. We were in the star wars room which I think had been recently refurbished. The star wars theme was good fun but not too over the top. Comfy bed and big TV. The bath is absolutely huge and they've got water softeners so a long bath is very enjoyable. The breakfast did take a while, it looked like they'd just had a lot of people in but they were really nice and apologetic (and also didn't mind that it meant we had to check out a bit late) so we didn't mind too much, I'm assuming it's usually a buffet but at the moment you pick your breakfast the day before and it's made fresh which was really nice. The staff couldn't do enough for us, our door broke and the guy in reception was brilliant, despite it being a sat eve he got a mantinance guy out and had it fixed within ten minutes of us reporting it. It's about a five minute walk to the beach and about ten to the station so a great location! Would definitely recommend.

I have reviewed this hotel for many of our stays over the years and never had cause to complain. We first came just after it was featured on TV in the 'Hotel Inspector' many years ago. It has always been clean and comfortable and this time we had Catherine Zeta Jones room whic I think had new carpets in. Breakfast is a bit basic but if absolutely fine and tasty, as many hotels at the moment they seem short staffed I think. What I would say though to management is, I don't understand why you don't provide Gluten Free bread for Breakfast. I have requested it every time but although you say you can store it for me I am told I have to bring my own. This is no big deal for me really, but it has prevented me from eating at the hotel as I feel they maybe wouldn't be able to cater for me with GF food. I havn't been to any hotels [home of abroad] in the last several years that hasn't provided GF bread for breakfast/mealtimes I am quite fussy but I always feel at home staying at the Celebrity, drinks are resonably priced and I love all the quirky history around the place especially in the lounge.

I always try to be fair. On arrival I was surprised to be asked to pay a £350 damage deposit for our group . When we saw the rooms it was hard to understand as carpet stained and torn , walls marked, and generally very tatty. Smallest single room have ever stayed in but functional. Shower took 6 minutes each time to heat up . In the 5 days I was there room was never cleaned or serviced and had to keep going to reception for dry towell or anything else. When I left 6 wet towels never collected and bin never emptied. I had asked 3 times at reception who took room number and said stuff would be left. Staff were pleasant but very inexperienced and bar prices were hotel prices for cafe products. I would never stay there again but if you just looking get head down and want cheap it is in a good location and functional. Really needs a complete refurb from bits I saw but maybe I was unlucky. Some rooms looked ok looking through doors. Had to park on street most days as car park full. Breakfast was buffet and plentiful and good quality .
