This is the 2nd year on the trot that I have attended a large charity lunch - and this year was not disappointed - just as good. It was a very large group, and we filled the dining room. We were welcomed with smiles and bucks fizz. There was a very well laid out table plan, and immediate assistance if...

I had no idea what to expect at this hotel as I have not been to this area for a long time. The staff were extremely pleasant, well mannered and very helpful, everything done with a smile and offered advice about getting about the town and shops. The bedroom was very clean, with en suite bathroom, also extremely clean, the...

Eerie, charmless and chavvy hotel with tight and very old lift that only goes to floor 2 so had to take flight of stairs to reach my room. The door numbers are not even in order making it difficult to find the allocated room. Though the cleanliness of the room was okay, the TV is tiny, the room cold and...

Thank you for taking the time to post a review. We were very concerned by this review as it is at odds with the great majority of reviews we receive. The Hotel is a popular venue at weekends for dinner parties, banquets and weddings etc. (See previous reviews) but we do insist that discos and entertainment cease at 11.30 pm...

First visit with a ten-pin bowling group. Hotel adequate, clean and comfortable facilities the ultimate in luxury but EXCELLENT FOOD, varied menu and all very well cooked and presented. Service good. Wow! FREE WI-FI!. Lift goes only to the second floor and stairs to reach third floor are narrower and steeper. However, for the price I paid it is very...

Hotel has been decorated and modernised over recent times and is very homely and comfortable. The Sunday lunch is very popular - no wonder: very good value. Three generous courses, including tea/coffee and a fresh bread roll for less than £20 per head. Food was nice, and freshly prepared. Plenty of staff who are very friendly and attentive. Clean tablecloths...

We had bought a Groupon voucher for a night's stay at The Mayfair - we paid a supplement to stay on a Saturday night. When we arrived at the hotel we were greeted warmly by the receptionist. Our room wasn't ready as we had arrived at 10am in the morning as we wanted to make the most of our time...

Last minute choice for a weekend away with friends. Not stayed at the Mayfair before. Greeted well and offered assistance with our luggage. Rooms were perfectly adequate, clean and warm. Excellent 3 course meal on Friday night with a varied menu to suit all. Breakfast was laid out as a buffet table with cereal and fruit, and breakfast was cooked...

Stayed here for a one night break with my husband. It was a groupon offer and a last minute buy. Was a cheap offer and wasn't expecting too much. We were pleasantly surprised. We were greeted by pleasant and helpful staff on reception. Our room was No 35. It was very clean and well decorated. Our bed was comfy with...
