This s an typical English "Fawlty Towers style" hotel, but with excellent staff that provides a real feeling of the English Riviera. I can racommend this Place, they have a guest parking, which is needed beacuse parking space is a shortage. Walking distance to the harbour and several restaurants and pubs

This is a nice hotel, run by the owners and located a short walk, about 5 minutes, from the heart of Torquay, ideally located for easy access to restaurants and shopping. There is a small car park which will accommodate 4 or 5 cars in the grounds of the hotel. I was met by Nick on arrival, who greeted me...

Not for people with limited mobility, but otherwise a fab hotel, great hosts, great food, spotlessly clean. There is an outdoor pool but the weather wasn't good so didn't use it, but looking forward to staying there again this year

Whilst our room was compact and the facilities a little dated, the bed was comfy the room clean, equipped with all you might need and was quiet. We'd certainly return without hesitation. Some people might need to be aware that there are a number of steps to be negotiated from the carpark, but this was not a problem for us....

Stayed here for one night in March and found everything to be excellent, the hotel and room is in good order and the rooms have all of the extras including bottled water and sweets. The hospitality tray includes biscuits and plenty of tea or coffee as well as hot chocolate sachets, the toiletries in the shower room are quite comprehensive...

Had the pleasure of staying for a short break /getaway end of jan. Really enjoyed our time there.though the weather could have been a lot better! But not much the lovely hosts could do about that. Lots of little extra touches that help to raise it above the similar accommodation available in Torquay, starting with a very warm welcome and...

We enjoyed our stay at The Shirley. Upon arrival Nick, the owner, was friendly, offered us drinks and showed us to our room. It's just a 10 minute walk into the main town and harbour with many restaurants to choose from. We visited Kents Cavern Prehistoric Caves which took about 20 minutes to walk to and also Living Coasts zoo...

Navigating to the hotel was easy using GPS. That said, it would not have been too difficult to find, even if we didn’t have GPS. The hotel is situated about 5 minutes walking distance from the harbour. There are numerous places to enjoy a nice meal between the hotel and the harbour, but more of that in another review. We...
