We had a week's stay at Southbank in a standard double room, which was spacious and had everything we required for our visit. It was nice to find decaffiinated tea and coffee provided, as well as herbal tea and regular coffee. Extra supplies of tea and coffee etc, were provided on each landing near the rooms, which was a lovely... More

We stayed at the South Bank for 2 nights. The hotel itself is situated on Belgrave Road. Its convenient to the town centre, harbour and restaurants /bars. The hotel has a modern feel in décor, although retaining its character features. Our room was spacious, nicely decorated and very clean. The bed and linen is my personal favourite, I am fussy... We arrived at the hotel, the room was not ready,as we expected, but we were given a key to get in when we came back , we came back at 4.30pm and unpacked the car, I noticed the mould on the shower and also the bathroom floor was filthy, I did try to clean it !! The window sill and... More

Stayed for 2 nights in a single room, ground floor location facing out to the rear of the property. Very comfy room nicely furnished, good quality bed linen. The pillows were a bit flat for me but that is a personal preference. Breakfast variety and quality exceptional. Wifi worked all of the time and that does not always happen in... More

The hotel is comfortable and the owners friendly and welcoming. It is situated on several floors with flights of stairs to tackle, so possibly not so good if you are less mobile and unfit. Breakfast is always freshly cooked and served to order and gives a good start to the day. The hotel is convenient for a short 10 minute... More

It is a very good place to stay when in Torquay as the location is quite central if you do not mind a short walk along the sea front to the town centre. The breakfast at the hotel is excellent and fills you up for the day. The owners are great and will try and do everything the can to... More

Just been back again for 10 nights and this was our second visit this year. Great place to stay, comfy rooms and great breakfast. Ian and Marie are lovely hosts, polite and helpful. Hotel is just 5 minutes walk down Belgrave road to the sea front and Abbey sands which was great for our 7 year old. Will be back... More
