I used this hotel because it was close to my work. I use Holiday Inn Express a lot and this Holiday Inn is nowhere near as good. It is overpriced for what it offers; I refuse to pay £15 each for a buffet breakfast when there are much better options nearby. Rooms are serviced haphazardly and we had to ask... More

As previous reviewers have said: "Don't be fooled by the snazzy reception." The rooms are tired and grotty. They're also very cold. You get a plug-in electric heater to add warmth! I had to move rooms twice. Firstly, the cold water didn't work, tonight...the toilet flush is broken. No apology from management, just diverted to an equally grotty room. The... More

Saturday evening was spent in great company at The Holiday Inn where we were served a delicious 3 course dinner by friendly, smart and efficient waiters! The special function room had been Well prepared and the seating arrangements were ideal. Only downsides drinks a little pricey!!!

Visited with wife and daughter for the university openday. Location is excellent. Very central just behind the Hoe. University is a comfortable 15 minute walk. Hotel has two car parks. The one in the basement is fine for small cars but difficult for larger cars. There is an outside car park across the road for the larger cars. Room had... More

Attended Plymouth University's open day. Arrived about 3.45 pm on a Friday afternoon. Lovely people in reception, but the reception desk is too small to cope with three people checking in. Strange not to have a larger desk with the amount of available space. Bar did not look interesting being that it was in line with the front doors. Car... More

We arrived on Guy Fawkes after an overnight flight and a train from Washington, DC. I had requested a Sea View through Expedia, but unfortunately, one wasn't available, this was rectified the next day though, due to the very fine check in staff. A wonderful lady, and I wish I could remember her name. The rooms are larger than you... More

With a pimped-up reception area, you would have thought Holiday Inn would have first applied their attentions to their guest rooms. Not a bit of it. They still remain firmly in the 1970s, with tired old threadbare furniture and bedding made of some cheap wadding (the alleged choice of firm or soft pillows is silly - all four are the... More

Great family room for the four of us. We were 2 adults and 2 teens, so not old enough that the teens can be in a separate room but you still need some space! Lovely spacious room, two double beds plus a single, two armchairs and a sofa. Hairdryer, toiletries and decent pillows. We had breakfast included so consider our stay... More

My husband and I stayed at this Holiday Inn this week. Location is great, right on the Hoe, nice view from the bedroom. I had read about dreadful parking, and whilst I agree it can be a bit tight, we had no problem, it is also cheap at 3 pound! The lobby and bar have had a recent facelift and... More

Being my first stay in a Holiday Inn, it was better than I expected. The building itself is an ugly big concrete block, but the rooms are a decent size if a little dated and worn. Comes complete with a trouser press though, which I didn't know still existed. Best part was breakfast, as this is on the top floor... More
