My husband and I decided to come here for a weekend getaway and what a delightful weekend it was. The hotel itsel is charming and the views, I can't describe the view, other than it's similar to the Northern California coastal views. Not far is a short walk to entrance to the Valley of Rocks, an absolutely breath taking trail....

Been to Lynton and Lynmouth on many occasions, but first time we stayed and the hotel was excellent, with great views and breakfast was great, with a good selection of things to eat. The view from our room was right next to the water railway. Would definitely stay their again.

Was lovely coming back to a town where we stayed for family holidays. Hotel was lovely. Rooms very nice over looking the sea from the cliff. Food was brilliant. Feel the guy could have smiled more though. He was working on the reception and changed to the bar a lot. The breakfast lady was lovely and had a great chat...

It has been much too long since we visited this lovely hotel but I just wanted to respond to a few comments about driving and parking at the Northcliff. Yes the car park is a bit on the "tight" side but, with care, not a problem. If full there is always space just a few yards further down the road....

When some of the reviews say the place is dated - it just means the decor is more old fashioned than modern. There is nothing tired or tatty about this place - it certainly is one of the cleanest places I have stayed. The towels smell lovely - of fabric softener, it's really homely and the breakfasts are really good....

Stayed here during the Easter Bank Holiday after we found this place on a ‘dog friendly hotels’ website. The drive (from Berkshire) to Exmoor was amazing and driving into Lynmouth and Lynton is great, it felt like we were abroad! Luckily the car park was almost empty (I read some comments here about the car park being crammed) and when...

This place is like stepping back in time & visiting your Gran's house (in a nice way). Clean, comfortable and peppered with little quirks that will make you smile & take you back to childhood, such as lemon marmalade at breakfast (hadn't seen that for years), heavy anaglypta wallpaper painted with gloss and sets of country scene plates hanging on...

My partner, daughter and I have just got home from a lovely 3 nights with Kate at the North Cliff Hotel. The view from the hotel is just amazing and the village has various places to eat just a short walk away. The cliff train down to Lynmouth is just around the corner to. The breakfast was lovely and the...

Yet another amazing trip to beautiful Lynton. Kate again made us very welcome in her beautiful sympathetically designed and decorated victorian hotel. Immaculately clean as always, super yummy breakfast. I really couldn't recommend this hotel enough. For those negative comments, please remember this hotel is a two star hotel, it's really so much more than this. Really good value for...

The hotel has a stunning view across the coast and is conviniently located at the top of the railway for easy access down the cliff face to Lynmouth and the coast. We took our two dogs, they loved exploring the area, and everyone was very dog friendly. There are some sweet seaside pubs in Lynmouth and we found four dog...
