We spent two nights at the Sandrock hotel in mid November and would happily return. We were offered a tray of tea and biscuits on arrival and made to feel welcome. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was excellent - good quality marmalade, fresh fruit salad, and a well cooked 'full English'. My only small niggle was that...

Although staying next door, I called in here for an evening meal. An excellent selection of local beers and ciders are available in this friendly Edwardian Hotel & Pub. Many of the original features have been retained and the large wood burning stove adds to the atmosphere in the bar. Very good value pub food is served. Friendly & helpful...

Spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated throughout. Comfortable beds. Generously stocked tea & coffee supply. Great breakfast selection of cereals and hot dishes. Pleasant friendly & helpful owners. Well stocked bar with good selection of beers. Nick & Jane have obviously worked tirelessly up-grading this property to its current high standard. We would not look for anywhere else if returning to...

We booked a table for lunch (2 couples). Not a particularly professional set up but a decent real ale selection (four!) and choice of wines etc.. The couple didn't major on customer service - particularly Jane. Caution - very non-discript food (the appalling vegetable soup and tasteless ham were particularly poor today) but the cheese ploughman's and sandwiches were okay...

An overnight stay for my wife and I and we found The Sandrock very relaxing. Met by Jane on our arrival and shown to our very clean and bright room. Down in the bar area we had a small drink before venturing into town which is only a short 5-10 minute walk away. The evening menu is fairly simple pub...

A good selection of local real ales & warm welcome from Nick & Jane. Recomend the Exmoor Ale & the carvery. Never tried any of the local scrumpy that appears every now & then. What harm could it do, it's only apple juice. An ideal place to stop for a drink after visiting the Valley of Rocks. I will back...

my wife and I stayed at the Sandrock in August and we found the place to be of a very very high standard the room very clean and furnished to a high quality. The staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. The food cannot be faulted and is very reasonably priced. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed here for a weekend and picked it mainly because it was in the 'Good Beer Guide". (Have to get your priorities right.) The double room which we had was nice and comfortable, plenty of thick towels in the en-suite bathroom, powerful shower, the usual tea & coffee making facilities & TV. It was at the back of the...

My husband and I stayed at the Sandrock for 3 nights in July. We received a warm and friendly welcome. The room was newly renovated, the bed very comfortable and the en suite shower room very spacious. There is a bar serving drinks at very reasonable prices. I would certainly recommend the Sandrock as a great base for exploring the...
