Found the bar after being directed by a welcoming member of staff and grabbed a table. Straight to the bar to check that food was still being offered (14.10) - it was- so ordered drinks. Very helpful chap behind the bar not, as I expected, reminding me that I should order soon but pointing out the menu's and offering to... More

The Rising Sun is a gem with a lovely harbour side location and an excellent base for coastal and inland walks. We stayed for 3 nights in a room with a sea view and easy access to local shops and car parking. We didn't stay in the hotel but we ate at the bar and the menu, although very limited, has some excellent local seafood tasters which we enjoyed very much. The food is fresh and tasty and the pub has bags of character with much of the old 16th century structure still visible- wooden beams, low ceilings and all. The portions... More

Located opposite the harbour with fantastic views this lovely old Devon Inn has great atmosphere, good beer and very good pub grub. Small inside if weather inclement but plenty of space to the front to sit outside and people watch whilst enjoying a few beers.

We were only able to stay one night but wished we'd stayed longer. The rooms are lovely, full of character and overlooking both the harbour and sea.
