After a day off wondering what to do, we decided to take a short trip to our favourite place Lynmouth. On checking for a room we found one here. On check in we were greeted by a very nice host. He took us to our room whilst telling us about the history of the house. The room decor was slightly...

The gardens attracted us from the other side of the river. On entering the garden, we were greeted with 'What can I get you?' and when we asked to take a look at the menu, we were told bluntly, to 'you've walked right past it, it's on the wall!' We should have walked out then, however we decided to stay...

What an amazing place! Beautiful gardens and the present owners have over the years lovingly restored Captain Jack Crocombe's former residence to its past glory. They have a rare passion and pride in their home. It is tastefully decorated with an oriental theme, down to the William morris wallpaper and sumptuous collection of antiques. We were met with a warm...

We just checked out this morning 2/8/14 after staying 7 nights with our dog Fergus who couldn't have been better looked after. Our room was up the spiral staircase and was spotless and cleaned and made-up every day. The views are wonderful onto the courtyard and over to the river. The owner is a character and offers local advice freely...

Stayed in a delightfully quaint and quirky en-suite room. Slept well in a very comfortable bed; additional bedding was available and ready to hand if required. Hosts were genial, with amusing stories, helpful local knowledge re dining out in the evening, and advice for daytime activities. We enjoyed a tasty full English breakfast that was served promptly in a charming...

our room was clean, the en suite adequate and clean, the welcome, having asked if we could leave our car having arrived early, was "Come back at normal check in time" we hadn't even asked for access to the room. There is free parking on the road, which you will need as when you do check in you're told if...

I have never written a negative review before but felt that the owner of this establishment needed to know we were very disappointed with our visit for afternoon tea. We were drawn here as the garden area is idyllic. We ordered a cream tea for one and two cold drinks. The owner brought out the drinks with scones for three....

My Husband and I stayed in Lynmouth for a few days a couple of weeks ago. I didn't write a review at the time but having read the most recent reviews I felt I could also add our agreement to the comments. We thought we would sit in the sun and enjoy a cup to tea. My Husband enjoyed his...

I went here for afternoon tea with my husband and mother on Tuesday and have to agree with Pauline V and others who have left similar comments. The gardens and setting are very beautiful but the owner's manner has to be seen to be believed. He came to our table with a 'forced' welcome and immediately tried to encourage us...

Beautiful setting but as many before have said, spoilt by a very rude owner. Others around us were also clearly surprised as his attitude. Would not go there again. Such a shame as the location is superb and the gardens very pretty. The owner just needs to understand what customer relations is all about!!! He clearly doesn't or doesn't need...
