5min walk to Quay, downhill, and 5min walk to the shops, uphill.Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good - you can tweak your full English order - vegetarian in my case so you have the items and number of items you want. Standard rooms, with comfortable beds. Free car parking. Would recommend.

We stopped for a winter weekend break arriving on the Friday night and leaving on the Sunday morning. During this time staff were welcoming and really helpful. The room was fine, warm. We ate in the hotel on arrival, it being a bit late to investigate but there are plenty of eating options literally just outside the door so if...

A perfectly pleasant place to stay if you want good access to the city centre, a decent pint and pleasant staff. It's by no means boutique, but you would know that by the price. The staff were engaged, and helpful and were a credit to Marstons. It's a little tired in places, but the room was actually quite nice, certainly...

Staying on business the White Hart offered a great overall experience. Food and drink were excellent Staff were really helpful and friendly and prepared to spend time sorting out future bookings. Rooms and bathroom are really clean and comfortable. If you intend eating in the evenings, make sure you book a table, gets busy with non residents, even at the...

Went in here for a couple of drinks not realising the pub car park had a pay meter until we were leaving ,we went back inside to explain we didn't see the meter ,probably because it was evening and very dark .plus we were not expecting a meter as this is not the norm when going for a drink or...

Hi, As explained on the day, we urge you to make contact with Parking Eye. We have tried to make it as visible as possible with the 2 signs on carpark entry, 17 signs in carpark, parking meter by entrance and signs and posters dotted about inside the pub / restaurant and on entry doors. This is so that we...

Went here for afternoon meal instead of fighting the crouds on new years eve. I coukd not fault anything it was perfect. Me and my mate had 2 for £10 meals but would have been happy even at full price. The sweets were delicious and portions massive. The service was very attentive and was overall the best meal we had...

This is a return visit and this time we stayed in The Cromwell Suite, on the top floor of the old building. There is no lift up to this room and the 37 stairs, four stair cases and corridors are awkward but appropriate for a building of this age. Not recommended for anyone with poor mobility . However it one...

Hi S1J1, We are sorry you didn't enjoy our service. We do remember your situation and thought it was resolved. The understanding was that the steak wasn't cooked enough, so was cooked further, however the rest of the meal was cooked fresh again while the steak was cooked further. Nothing on our steak meals are microwaved, but as a matter...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The White Hart Hotel is a Public House which boasts 55 newly refurbished en-suite bedrooms (October 2015). All are non-smoking and inclusive of full English breakfast and FREE PARKING. The hotel is an old 'Coaching Inn' built in 1356! And is situated in the City Centre within the old city walls. There was an extension built on the back for 32 of the rooms in 1971 (These rooms have lift access). However the remainder rooms including the suite are located in the 'Old Part' above the Inn (These involve stairs and no lifts.) This part is a 'listed'property as the building is an 'historical place of interest' due to its part in Medievil history. The Pub boasts a large 'Chargrill Menu' concentrating on Steaks, Burgers & traditional pub classics to suit all tastes. There are 2 bars. The 'Tap Bar' is open 7 days a week and is traditional 'Olde Worlde' pub still with all the Medieval fixtures & fittings that has lots of fine Real Ales to choose from. And a 'Cider Bar' that opens at weekends and was newly refurbished in October 2015 & is where breakfast is served every morning. The pub also boasts an exclusive 'Secret Garden' very popular with couples. It's ideally situated to enjoy all the city has to offer, from its famous Gothic Cathedral, The Quay & the Princesshay shopping centre. ... more   less
