Stayed one night wish we could have stayed longer. Lovely place. Breakfast lovely although took a while as only one waitress. Evening before a very yummy cottage pie for me and fresh fish for my husband. Went with two other friends who both thought the same as us. Show your receipt at ticket office and you get to walk through...

Our first visit to the red lion and we were not disappointed the view from our room was gorgeous even our bathroom had a superb view . Our room was on the small side and slightly dated but clean and tidy so the view made up for it . The staff were friendly and helpful, the young chap however that...

We have just spent 3 nights in the sail loft, room 15. It was a lovely room, clean, warm with great views of the sea. If fact we were almost on the beach. Unfortunately the restaurant was being refurbished and we had breakfast and dinner in the bars. The wine list is excellent, choices for most pallets. Breakfast was really...

We recently stayed at The Red Lion, we stayed for two nights. Well what can I say. It was magnificent. Our room was superb, it was in a part of the hotel called the sail loft. This was a building right next to the main building. The rooms couldn't"t get any closer to the sea. It was great lying in bed...

This was my second visit to the Red Lion and I absolutely love it. The hotel is spotless and the staff are amazing. Being off season it was lovely and quiet and the peace in Clovelly is amazing. Room 4 gives wonderful views over the harbour and across the bay. The staff really are first class. They allowed us to...

Visiting The Quay at Clovelly on a day trip with grandchildren saw a sign on the wall of the Red Lion advertising Hot Chocolate, Coffee and tea at £1.50. This apparently is the price from the kiosk (which was not open). We were unaware of this and ordered at the bar and were charged £9.60 for 2 hot chocolates and...

Great service, great food and an amazing location. At this time of year the place isn't overrun with tourists and the magic of the place is only further enhanced. I don't know how much they pay Ollie but he's worth every penny and more. The guy simply cannot do enough for you.

From the point at which you pass the sign saying no cars beyond this point and park on the cobbles facing out to sea, you know this is a place lost in the swirl of time. The hotel is homely with a lovely open fire in the bar and posh white table cloths in the restaurant. the staff are all...

What a lovely hotel, we had a room overlooking the sea and harbour. Large bed, modern en-suite, all immaculately clean and very comfortable. The food in both the bar and restaurant was fantastic, a real treat. Very easy access to the coast path which meant no driving for the weekend which was another bonus. Breakfast was a little slow on...

At the end of the walk through the village, we stopped here just for a cup of coffee and a trip to the conveniences We had to find the barmaid as she was upstairs in the hotel (they need a bell really for customers to ring) - appears that she was the only person on for the pub and hotel...
