When I first saw my room at The Lugger Hotel I was pleased. It looked spacious, light and clean. It didn't take me long to notice the problems. The television didn't work. I told the manager and he said he'd see to it. However, he didn't do anything and my first night was without TV or radio. The second day...

I travelled to Penzance on business as I do 1/2 days a month. I was booked into this hotel last minute by my client. Upon arrival @ 19.45 I waited 10 minutes for anyone to tend to me. When the member of staff took me to my room I climbed a number of flights of stairs through dark dated corridors...

We booked at the last minute and were offered a sea-view room for just £85. Given the location and a lovely bay window to sit in it was good value. The following main points seem relevant if you are thinking about staying: +tive: Once you can find a space, parking on the sea front by the hotel seems completely unrestricted...

Oh dear what a waste. It could be an absolute fantastic hotel, however it's not at this moment. Thread bear carpet, not sure what to say about the decor. The bedding and towels were extremely clean plus point. Everything else is a shambles. I paid extra for a sea view which was good overlooking the bay. £98 for bed and...

I booked the hotel with trepidation having read previous reviews but was relieved to find that the room was excellent. It seemed to be newly decorated with a large comfortable double bed and and spotless walls. There was an ample wardrobe in one corner as well as a reasonable HD flatscreen tv in the other (N.B. Thank you for completing a review of our hotel we are pleased that you enjoyed your stay here, from time to time when the tide is high we do experience slight smells within the sewer system this is because we are so close to the sea, if & when a guest mentions this to us we do flush the whole...

My daughter and I stayed at the lugger both before and after our trip to IOS for one night each way. I had booked the rooms ( the only ones I could find in Penzance in the main holiday season who were willing to take us for one night stays - gold star for this!) before reading Tripadvisor reviews so...

This was a disaster from start to end. Surly receptionist asked me to settle up ON ARRIVAL, although I had paid 50 on booking through laterooms.com (mistake), I refused and said I would pay on departure. The room was 'tatty; with carpet badly fitted, woodwork scratched and knocked, walls grubby,no proper wardrobe apart from some narrow cupboard behind the door....

Stayed over for one night prior to catching the Isles Of Scilly ferry. We had 2 rooms 18 & 9. Both did what we needed them to and provided us with somewhere to put our heads overnight. Room 9 is the honeymoon suite (we got upgraded! Yay!) and has very impressive views and is really spacious. There were only a...

One review I read said it's not trying to be the Ritz. Whilst that is true, it does have a Fawlty Towers feel about it. It's not awful but is just very outdated. I stayed in room 1 which was a double. It was en-suite and had a decent enough shower. Sink was outside the shower/toilet room though on a...

The Lugger does not pretend to be 'The Ritz'. It is not meant to be but it offers agreat place to stay. The windows had all been replaced as we arrived and our romm (14, on the front) was fresh and spotlessly clean. The en-suite, albeit small, was also well kept. The staff were very friendly at a very busy...
