A large group of friends visited Sandy Lodge Hotel for a 4 day break. On arrival the reception staff were very efficient, but it was obvious immediately this hotel was in much need of a face-lift.We shown to our room by 2 school girls still wearing their uniforms.the room was fairly small and basic ,however the bed linen was clean and fresh....

Stayed on a four-night trip organised by my local RBL Club. Check-in was well-organised, quick and cheerful and the attitude of the staff throughout the hotel was absolutely first-class. The food was excellent with a huge choice of help-yourself breakfast and a varied dinner menu, beautifully cooked and served and the dessert choices were wonderful with an enormous selection of...

Came with David Urquhart for 3 nights. My first room had a bath and as I have a bad knee I asked if I could move - it was no problem at all - i was given another room. I was glad for other reasons too - there was a hole in the wall in my first room and nylon...

Sandy Lodge is obviously not competing in the top range so you must forgive the worn interior and the soft bed. There is WiFi but the rooms are not within the range. The food served is tasteless. It is not bad but it has no taste. Vegetables are overcooked etc. The breakfast is not varied and is based on the...

Stayed at the Sandy Lodge with the Caernarfon Male Voice choir. Food was delicious every night with a varied choice of starter, main meal and plenty of home made desserts. Staff were fantastic, always cheerful and ready to help -bar man was a star!!!. Room was ok but not suitable for a tall person like myself as the bed was very small...

This seems to be your typical small British B&B. It's basically clean but slightly out of date. Magnolia walls and anaglypta in places on the walls. The staff were friendly, the bed was reasonably comfortable. The en-suite was OK. The floor was an industrial material and didn't look clean - although it was. The shower cubicle was minute and the...

Our twin room with shower was excellent. Obviously refurbished bathroom , large shower and all very clean . Force of shower could improve but we were on 2nd floor . Some guests had an issue with loud noises , largely unexplained at night , but we were lucky until early hours of last night . Staff were really pleasant and...

Went there 20th - 25th March this year, good local bus company in Lincoln. Can't knock it, the hotel overall probably needs some decorating and refurbishment, but cleanliness, food, quality for money, friendly staff, and especially the night time entertainment, was real value. I am fed up with these people who pay 2 star prices and expect 5 star treatment. Very...
