We booked a week at this cottage from Friday to Friday. Originally we had rented a one bedroom property, but were contacted a few days in advance telling us that there was a problem with the shower and we would be moved to a four bedroom cottage. We arrived on the Friday and were stunned!! A beautiful stone built cottage awaited us. The ground floor had two bedrooms,(double and single), two bathrooms one with shower, the other a bath. The dining area had a massive old wooden table with both bench and chairs around. A fully fitted kitchen comprising a huge fridge freezer along with ice making facility. A Microwave, a five ring gas hob cooker, a washing machine with separate drier, kettle and Toaster, as well as a dishwasher. The kitchen was fully equipped with all that you would need to live as you would at home. We only took our coffee machine and Pods!! Upstairs was two further bedrooms (double and single) and a very large lounge area with a super TV and two massive comfortable settees that were a dream to relax on. We could not believe the quality of this cottage and were very happy with our stay. One of the wettest weeks Cornwall has had did not prevent us from enjoying ourselves in what was a lovely and relaxing week, made more enjoyable by the cottage. This is a family run business and we were fortunate enough to meet one of the family the day we departed who gave us a brief rundown of the farm. It is no longer a functioning farm, but you can still walk around the pastures. I would thoroughly recommend this place for a very relaxing break which is close to Newquay and Porth. Will be returning. Thank you.

We have just left this very pretty cottage after a wonderful stay. Situated in a very quiet & tranquil valley with beautiful views. The cottage was very well equipped and really comfortable. Run by a lovely family where nothing was too much trouble. . We can thoroughly recommend a stay here.

Just back from another wonderful week at Hendra Paul Holiday Cottages. Our 5th and definitely not our last visit, set in Beautiful peaceful countryside location but close to all local Amenities about 10 minutes from Newquay Town. We Consider Hendra Paul our own little piece of Heaven and Highly recommend a stay there. We are very fortunate to have stayed in 3 out of the 4 Lovely Cottages Wildflower Spiders Web and Barnowl Over the 5 years we have been visiting Cornwall. All the Cottages in our eyes are exceptional, Comfortable Cosy and very clean. And have everything you could possibly need. Will and Julia the Owners Are Warm Friendly and very Helpful and are there if needed. Hendra Paul is pretty much central for anyone with a car like us Making it easy for visiting practically everywhere in Cornwall. We Love Hendra Paul so much and are eagerly looking forward to what will be our 2nd Christmas there in a couple of months time

We had a wonderful stay at Spiders Web cottage. I booked for a week for myself my cousin and her three children. A comfortable house, spacious and homely. I think it’s time to remove the coin meter for electricity though! It’s such a shame that it was ruined on my last day by being told ‘you will have to leave’ by owner Julia who came to me in a state telling me ‘we don’t book Saturday to Saturday’ despite looking at my receipt from their sister company ‘Select Cornwall’ owned and run by their son (which stated I had booked and paid for Saturday 25th Aug through until Saturday 1st Sep) A firm knock on the door and then telling me very sternly, ‘if someone is booked in today you will have to go’. I was quick to state that I had the emails to confirm my booking and emails from Julia herself confirming dates! I was made to feel this was somehow MY FAULT! Instantly dismissive of the emails that had been sent back and forth on the 14th August, me CONFIRMING the dates of check in and checkout with ‘Julia’, apparently these were sent by ‘select cornwall’ despite it being their own email address, when questioned on this it was said ‘the emails from Julia, were instead sent by their son and signed Julia’ Both Julia and her husband totally turned tack from abrupt and dismissive to ‘totally our fault’ but I’m left with a real bitter taste. The cottages are lovely, location beautiful but their management skills and people skills at 9:30 in the morning are appalling. I won’t be booking again. Their son should maybe run the business of ‘select cornwall’ a little closer to Cornwall and not from London as they stated he does, maybe better communication would have stopped this from happening. Such a shame. I received a follow up email from select cornwall saying that the ‘owners were not in any way at fault’ which I thought was a funny way to apologise for as he put it for ‘a ‘clerical error’ I also suggested he refers to his mom and dad, as such ‘Mom & dad’ instead of the owners... I agree this was a clerical error but what I was upset about was being shouted at and told I’d have to leave at 9:30 in the morning whilst I was attempting to enjoy my last day!

Although there was much to recommend about Wildflower Cottage, which we hired, I was taken aback by being charged for electricity. We stayed in a large number of rentals while on an extended holiday this year and I have never come across this before. I was also very surprised to find that we were expected to checkout by 9.30 am, another first, even though the website said checkout was 10 am which is quite usual. The reason for the early checkout was given as being because of the length of time it took to clean the cottage, this cottage had one living room and one bedroom with en-suite. To cap it all, after being asked to checkout early, to give them time to clean, they then had the gall to leave notes asking us to take off the covers from the quilt and pillows! I am sorry, but that is just taking the rise. Early checkout to do part of the of the cleaning work. Perhaps next year visitors will be asked to do the cleaning service as well. I am sad to write this because in other ways this was a lovely place to stay, it just took all the shine off it.

We actually visited Aug 2016 but can't go back that far (sorry took me so long to review!) We stayed in Barn Owl cottage and first of all the photos do not do it justice because the surroundings and views are absolutely breathtaking, and we had no idea because had only seen photos of interior! So that was a lovely surprise when we arrived! Julia was extremely helpful when we arrived, showed us round the cottage and how things worked etc, then left us to it. The price of this cottage is extremely competitive so a few drawbacks are to be expected! Two bedrooms are downstairs with the bathroom, dining area and kitchen, and two bedrooms are upstairs with the living room- so depending on your ratio of kids/adults and bedtimes that could be tricky. Our kids were all old enough to stay up quite late anyway and we put them all downstairs and the adults slept upstairs. (4 adults, 3 kids between us) There is little to no sound proof from the upstairs rooms to the downstairs ones so when the little darlings woke up early and excited we could hear every last "whisper" so beware of that! The facilities are great, we had everything we could need in the kitchen etc, and a fabulous barbecue. Location wise we opted to get cabs into Newquay most days as it was cheaper than hunting and paying for parking in town! Cabs were hit and miss- sometimes very prompt others not!! In the evenings we absolutely adored sitting outside for BBQs etc, I cannot emphasise how beautiful the gardens are. They are technically shared but we didn't see anyone else so they felt like ours! Overall great location as long as you don't mind not being in the centre of Newquay, very very quiet and secluded and excellent, excellent value for money.

Myself and my family hired Barn Owl Cottage, I think the biggest of the cottages. Thank you Julia for making up the extra bed, it didn't go unnoticed. A lovely relaxing retreat away from Newquay Town. We hire cottages on a regular basis and so far this has by far the cleanest beds and sheets. You cannot ask for the wrong utensil in the kitchen, it has far more than my own at home. The recycling bins at the side of the cottage are a masterpiece. Julia, you have lovely cleaners, my Mom had a chat with them and a sneaky peak into the other cottages when vacant. You can't possibly go wrong here.

My husband and I stayed in the Wild Flower Cottage for a few nights back in August and we absolutely loved it here. It's in a great location only a 10 minute drive from Newquay and other beautiful parts of the coastline but is out in the middle of the countryside so you really get a relaxing and peaceful stay. We were sent detailed directions before our trip and we found the group of cottages without any problems. The Wild Flower Cottage was perfect for the 2 of us with a big living/dining/kitchen area, a bedroom with a big cosy 4 poster bed and a bathroom with a Jacuzzi bath and shower. We had our own private garden outside with a view out over the rolling hills and the cottages are on a farm so we had some horses as next door neighbours to say hello to every morning. A booklet full of any information we could need was left for us but Julia was usually close by in case we needed anything else. We had a rainy day during our trip (as you do in England in summer!) so we cosied up by the fire with some DVDs and board games. The only slight negative I have is that the wifi was very temperamental and only worked very slowly in certain parts of the cottage. This ended up not being such a bad thing for us though as it meant we could have a nice peaceful break away from social media for a few days! I'm so glad we stayed here instead of in a normal hotel or B&B and I would highly recommend one of the Hendra Paul cottages. It was perfect for a relaxing and cosy long weekend in Cornwall :)

We stayed in Wildflower cottage for one week and it was fantastic. Highly recommend. Lovely house to come home to at the end of the day. 4 poster bed, a real novelty, Jacuzzi bath, also a novelty. We had a slight problem with the fact there was no wifi or phone service, this might suit some people who want to get away from it all but we had 2 teenagers at home who we couldn't contact. Also the roads leading to the farm are very narrow, only wide enough for one car so might not be for everyone. Nearest pub/restaurant is 10 to 15 mins away in car. Overall, I would recommend,
