Easy to find on the A41, Whitchurch Road. Really good location, a very short drive or a pleasant 15 – 20 minutes walk from Broughton Park park and ride into Chester, (£2.00 per person with or without car). You could walk in along canal towpath as far as The Harvester Pub then approximately 5 minutes further on to the park...

Me and my boyfriend booked here for a one night stay on a Friday as we were booked in for a meal at ring o bells which is only a 5 minute walk up the road. So perfect distance for us to be able to have a drink. On arrival we waited to check in, the lad who checked us...

I stayed here with my wife and we were in the annex. Nearly everything about the stay was wonderful - the food is really excellent, the staff are very efficient and friendly, the beer is good, the location is great. Our room, and as it transpired all rooms, have a green security light incorporated into the main room light. This...

We have been twice in 2 weeks and thoroughly enjoyed each meal and visit. Food is delicious, well presented and on warm plates! Staff attentive and welcoming. Lovely situated by the canal. This time we had fish and chips. The tartare sauce the best I've tasted. Everything cooked to perfection.

Accommodation is in a row of old mews cottages at the side of the main Restaurant/Bar. On sight they look nice, but there is a downside! The main building which is the Restaurant/Bar is based on the countryside pub theme and is actually very nice. The food was good and reasonably priced with a good variety on the menu. We...

We booked this hotel for a long weekend away - was just like it was advertised. Perfect location - 10 minutes from the zoo, 15 minutes from Cheshire Oaks & 10 minutes from the city centre. Staff all lovely & accommodating. The rooms were lovely and clean, just what we needed for a weekend away. Wouldn't hesitate to visit here...

We stayed at the Innkeeper's Lodge in Christleton, Chester, on a weekend in early October with the aim of using the hotel as a base for exploring Chester. We had booked for 2 nights (Friday and Saturday nights) arriving late evening on Friday. The adjoining pub bar was busy, however the staff got us checked in right away with the...

Lovely accommodation clean and quiet, staff great, food lovely and prices reasonable, Chester city centre £7 in a cab.... Ideal. Only bad point was that the bar closed at 11 p.m. It would have been nice to return to the hotel for a night cap.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Of all the places to stay in Chester, this historic lodge has some of the best tales to tell. Built in Christleton on a key civil war battle site, the Cheshire Cat played a crucial role in World War II before being restored as a warm and welcoming hotel in the 1970s.The lodge's 14 comfy en-suite rooms are complemented by a cosy pub, which is dripping with rustic character and rural charm. Here you can enjoy seasonally inspired country dining together with a range of cask ales and well-chosen wines. There are plenty of things to see and do in Chester. Fantastic shopping, black and white medieval architecture, historic city walls and the famous Chester Racecourse are just a few of its many attractions. Children and adults alike will love Chester zoo or you can explore the weaving footpaths of the unspoilt Delamere Forest. West Cheshire is full of rolling hills, sweeping valleys and quaint market towns worth exploring. ... more   less
