We had a budget 2 night stay at this hotel which is located near to Christleton, a most attractive suburb of Chester, a talk mile walk along the canal towpath to the city. The hotel does not advertise its facilities at all well. There was no information in our room on the hotel: in the end, I found there was...

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel. Staff , Food , Pool and room were all fantastic. We booked through booking.com and sometimes they put you in a room that isn't as good as its cheaper . But our room was great. I have paid much more for a room that hasn't been half as good. The pool was...

Excellent stay loads of room to park nice surroundings great facilities we took my boy (8) to the pool and had loads of fun so pack your costume! My only complaint would be the rooms aren't ventilated enough and when you have a shower the room is boiling might be a consideration to install fans or air conditioning

We stayed for two nights, the first was about £150 and the second night about £72. Our room was of a decent size and the bed was huge. This was a very hot weekend and unfortunately the room was uncomfortably hot. We visited the swimming pool which was very dated and quite grubby around the pool area. Also the breakfast...

I'm not sure where to start with this place. When we first arrived we drove straight past as the Mercure sign was pointing at a drab, grey edifice that resembled a cross between a self storage facility and Checkpoint Charlie. "That can't be it." was muttered as we carried on towards Christleton, only to realise that the aforementioned architectural carbuncle...

We recently stayed at the Mercure Hotel in Chester and what a bland Hotel this is with no character or life to the Hotel and the big Open Bar area joining the reception is not very inviting also the dining room looks more like a big function room with no character. The Carpets are worn in the hallways and the...

The staff at the hotel were brilliant. Nice reception area and restaurant area. We stayed for one night in a family room, however it was too hot in the room even with the windows open. The hotel provided a fan, however this did little to cool the room, and it had to be turned off when we put our child...

We stayed 1 night en route for Holyhead ferry - quite satisfactory. A very long walk to our room at far end of several corridors. No lift, so help needed if you have heavy luggage, as we always do! No wardrobe in the room, just a clothes rail. Helpful staff, good buffet breakfast. When booking online the price dropped so...

Stayed in a family room which was pretty basic but clean and the beds were comfy. Really liked the fact that you can get the bus from just a short walk down the road and get into Chester in roughly 20 minutes. The pool and Spa facilities were really nice a little dated but still enjoyable. The breakfast was lovely...
