Very disappointed by what is supposed to be the second best hotel in Chester. We booked and paid in advance for one night in a standard double room and were glad we weren't staying longer. The room was not 4 star quality by a long shot. Small with exceptionally creaky floor room 306 fell short of expectations. The bed creaked...

Stayed here for my works Christmas do which was being held down the road. The room was an OK nice and the bed was comfortable, my partner found it quite hard. Bathroom an OK size. All was clean. Nothing special or exciting but we did just have a standard room. The lift is tiny, so if you aren't good with...

Booked an executive room because I wanted a Big bed and on arrival upgraded to an executive suite. Four poster bed and lounge. The hotel is old fashioned because of its age but public rooms and stairwell very roomy. What made the stay memorable was the quality of service we received from all the staff. Nothing was to much trouble...

Stayed here last minute for a night in chester with hope of a shop around in the morning. Had cocktails before eating out else where. Service seemed under staffed however some members of staff were just diving in and out of the staff only doors with mugs of tea and coffee. Went down for breakfast following morning which turned into...

Maybe a little more is required in the management of the restaurant where matters can be a bit hit and miss The smoked haddock florentine was nicely presented though the plates in particular the side dishes could have been hotter

Having stayed at other McDonalds hotels, this is a little disappointing. Booked through Booking.com a bit last minute for New Years Day Night. The room was ok in itself but accessing the compact and bijou bathroom was quite something so avoid room 119 and probably 118 and 120 too, Sat in the bar with only 2 other couples at 5.30...

Booked a family Afternoon tea just prior to Christmas, beautiful presentation with finger sandwiches and a selection of scones and cakes which were of excellent quality and we were served by a very accommodating member of the Hotel's team who was happy to replenish us with a fresh pot of tea and bring water for my grandchildren.

We booked last minute, and were greeted at reception by the lovely Liz, she was full of smiles (even though she was working a night shift on a Friday) and instantly made us feel at home.
