This is the first time we have been here and not been happy. The service was struggling and we had to ask for our order to be taken and then once we had finished our meal, we had to wander around the pub trying to ask for our bill. Maybe they were short staffed? The chunky chips were inedible and...

Fantastic. Stayed on Easter Monday after Daughters Wedding. We booked an Executive Room for them as a little trip. After being shown to our rooms my wife and I went for a drink in the bar and got talking to the Manager Chris. We told him of our reason for staying and without hesitation, he upgraded Karen and Paul to...

My wife chose to take the family for her birthday as we have had such pleasant visits in the past. The staff were more than helpful but the food left a lot to be desired. The starters were fine but the main courses were served cool and one main course was obviously forgotten and arrived 10 minutes after everyone else....

Visited yesterday with family after being on a walk along the Sandstone Trail. Lovely pub with character and a fabulous view of the Cheshire plain. Food probably let it down a bit which was a shame. My husband ordered the burger and it came on a plate with a basket of chips. Would have looked more appetising if had onion...

A delayed 30th wedding anniversary weekend tied up with a birthday present from my wife, we expected a banker of a weekend based on 4 previous visits. Unfortunately it missed the target. We stayed for two nights. The rooms were 10/10. Superlative. The pub, excellent. Location perfect. The food in the restaurant was unfortunately average. Chips and lamb hot pot...
