This hotel is in a convenient location for visiting the city of Cambridge, particularly if travelling by train - the station is a about a 10 minute walk. The walk into the city takes about 20 minutes. The hotel itself is clean and comfortable and the staff were most welcoming. Our room was a good size for our two night stay (one slight downside is the noise from the road). Our rate included breakfast - it's traditional English and the hot food is cooked to order. Limited options for non-cooked just cereal, fruit and juices; no pastries and with cooked breakfast no hash browns. Having said that, the cooked breakfast was tasty. Overall, would recommend and would stay here again. Thank you for a nice stay.

The Centennial is in an excellent location, just a few minutes walk from Cambridge Station and approx 20 to 30 minutes walk from the City Centre. Situated in a converted terrace of Victorian Town Houses this is a traditional hotel so don't expect the latest cool minimalist decor or lifts to the rooms. However this is compensated for by the friendly welcome you receive on arrival from helpful reception staff who will offer assistance with directions and comply with any special requests related to your stay. I found the hotel to be spotlessly clean and the service in the restaurant for the inclusive breakfast was very fast and efficient. Staying for just one night I booked the single attic room which, as expected, was a little cramped but I wasn't going to be spending much time in the room so it suited me. Don't book this room if you are tall as there is a sloping roof above the bed so anyone tall risks bumping their head ! The room was well equipped and there were extras such as ironing and hair drying facilities which aren't always a given in a 3 star hotel. My only niggle is that the shower is just a shower attachment on the bath which you have to hold while you shower yourself - not ideal! Although you wouldn't want to spend a lot of time in the tiny single rooms there is a comfortable public lounge downstairs so if you need to spend time in the hotel relaxing this is an option. To conclude, if you don't want the latest fashionable decor (think 1980s chintz ) and want somewhere convenient , clean and reasonably well equipped with helpful staff you can't go wrong with the Centennial. I would stay here again but probably wouldn't book the attic room next time!

Everything perfect. Very comfortable and spotlessly clean room, stylish and high quality en suite, friendly staff and very convenient central location. Cambridge accommodation is ridiculously expensive but, with free parking and breakfast included, the Centennial is excellent value for money. As a former resident, I visit Cambridge frequently and this has become my go to. Can't go wrong.

The hotel is very convenient for the city centre and business sites. It has free parking which really helped. The staff are friendly ands helpful. I had an attic room by choice which was a good size even with sloping roof. The bathroom was a good size and the shower works well after a small wait for the hot water to get up there. The room was very clean and uncluttered but also cosy. The bed was comfortable, the TV is a little small but I wasn't in the room for very long so not an issue for me. The bed was under a window which made it a little draughty, I moved the bed to deal with this. The stairs up to the room are really steep and small and there is no lift, again fine for me.
Breakfast was great, the staff were quick to help. Colleagues had full English breakfasts, we had the toast, there are cereals on the trolley and some cakes. Dinner in the hotel was disappointing. I wouldn't eat in the evening here again. Mushroom soup with croutons was passed off as creamy mushrooms in sauce! As a vegetarian I was disappointed to be left with an omelette and chips. The desserts had dwindled to two types and the profiteroles were basic. There are lots of nice places to eat around the hotel. Overall, the hotel was a three star experience.

My wife and I have been customers of this delightful family-run hotel for 30-years. It is located within easy walking distance of the railway station, the shops and the colleges. A freshly cooked 'full English' breakfast is included in the very reasonable room rate and the rooms themselves are extremely comfortable, but it is the friendly, ever helpful staff that make the hotel what it is, the best value for money hotel in Cambridge.

I have to say that this cosy hotel is delightful. We stayed there for 3 nights recently, as my husband was having an operation at the nearby Nuffield Hospital. We were checked in by one of the owners, who was welcoming and friendly and gave us lots of information about the area. The rest of the staff were lovely too during our stay and very accommodating. It was also one of the most spectacularly clean hotels I have ever stayed in. The bedding was crisp and white and the room was so clean and comfortable. The bed was so comfy too, I slept like a log. The food was lovely, and again the tables were laid out to perfection with lovely white cotton tablecloths and napkins etc. the hotel was perfectly located close to all the amenities. Thank you for a lovely stay.

This is a nice hotel in a great location, just 10 mins walk from the station and Parker’s Piece and 20 mins walk from the city centre with buses passing the door every few minutes if you don’t want to walk.
Our double room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. There was no air conditioning, which wasn’t a problem with the way the weather has been this summer. An electric fan was provided and the window opened wide.
Every member of staff we came into contact with was very friendly and welcoming.
Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice.
A major benefit for a hotel in Cambridge is the free car park.
I thoroughly recommend the Centenial.

Since our last visit, much of the hotel has been refurbished making the areas we used very clean, fresh and inviting. Our newly refurbished room had a bright, spotless bathroom, including new bath with moveable shower and rain shower over. Even the room sockets had been updated with a total of six USB ports in addition to three pin mains sockets. The WiFi worked well.
We stayed when the hotel seemed fully booked and we were warned in advance that there are not quite enough car parking spaces for every room. We had a choice of just two very tight spaces at the far end when we arrived early evening. However, the owner used his experience and was very helpful in enabling me to safely park in one of them. The second night was much quieter.
The restaurant was run by smart, helpful and efficient staff. Breakfast and evening meal were substantial, enjoyable and good value. Decent wine available for less than £20 a bottle.
The Centennial Hotel provides reasonably priced accommodation, with parking included, close to the centre of Cambridge.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel, which was a sightseeing break and a bit if time out with family. Very friendly staff, they could even remember our room numbers when we returned. Reminded me of some of the wondeful B&B's I used to stay at years back. There's a small bar next to the restaurant in the basement which is open from 6pm and some comfortable and quiet seating areas where we congregated and browsed through old family photos. Despite my concern about driving all the way to Cambridge and struggling to park, the hotel had a fair sized car park at rear and when we visited it was rarely more than half full.
Rooms were very clean, a small TV, a kettle and a good amount of coffee sachets, tea bags and milk pods. The bathroom had a nice deep bath with a removeable shower head on a riser with good flow.

I spent two nights in the hotel and would do it again. I'd say it is a better option for a night or two rather than for a longer stay. The standard rooms are very tiny and a bit dated but personally I didn't mind. The room and bathrom were very clean and the bed was very comfortable. My room was very quiet but I know that the ones facing the street can be noisy. Breakfast was ok. Selection was good and portions were generous but I would appreciate some fresh vegetables to go with it. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Vicinity of the train station is another advantage, walking to the city centre takes about 20 min. but it was a nice walk anyway so I didn't have to use busses or taxis.
