This hotel is obviously closed, but used to be the best hotel in Cambridge with well trained and knowledgable staff. I hope that when it opens again that they will offer the same excellent level of service. The other hotel is Cambridge must have been very pleased when this icon closed.

The Uni Arms has gone. Demolished, since the fire. What a great place it was, perfect service, food and views. A part of Cambridge that will be hard to replace. look forward to the new build and hope it is as good.

Went to the City to obtain a room and horror of horrors it closed in OCTOBER 2014 as I was told by contractors. It definitely needed refurbishment but when you stayed in this grand old lady you were treated like family and well taken care of. I miss meeting up with Linda the shining light of the establishment, Dante who took...

It is some time since we visited & stayed at the University Arms Hotel. The first time was a delight we took our daughter, granddaughter, 2 nieces & sister-in-law. It was a luxurious stay. Several years later, visiting our son again, and with daughter & granddaughter, it was in the run up to Christmas, we'd all settled down for the...

We were delighted when we arrived, but things went downhill quickly. The rooms are exhausted and crying out for refurbishment. If your room is on the street or overlooking the Commons, then late night revelry of the young folks may result in less sleep than that for which you hoped.

We had travelled to Cambridge to meet some friends. At the last minute we decided to include an overnight stay, when booking our choice was very limited. A few years ago we had attended a wedding in Cambridge, as we had a rough lie of the land from the previous trip we knew the hotel was handily located. After a...

This hotel is a true reflection of the Empire - fallen from olden days of grandeur into crumbling ruin. The once grand rooms smell of mould, the staff couldn't care less and you will get bitten by bugs. In a way a stay is thrilling as a pure dystopian experience.

The University Arms closes today for a two year refurb - thank God. We arrived saw the room and left. My partner remembers going their for tea in the 70's and swears nothing had changed. To echo other reviews the room had too many faults to mention.

This fabulous olde worlde Hotel may have fallen a little from grace but the staff were professional 'till the end; and the building inside and outside still shone with that elegance lost to the old empire a long long time ago. I only hope I can afford to re visit after the restoration. I am told at least 3 years....

It is clear from the very first step into the University Arms that it is delusional in the respect that it thinks that it's greater than it actually is. This includes the staff. Great location but that's about it! Don't bother eating the 'food', not nice. I wish I hadn't bothered. Sorry there is nothing good or positive I can...
