Booked a 3 night stay as we were visiting relatives in the area. Chose the Hamlet for its location and for the fact it allowed dogs. Our biggest mistake was not reading the reviews. Bedroom was dingy and dirty, empty crisps bags in drawers. Think the bedding was supposed to be white, but it was grey. Towels had to be...

I am very reluctant to leave a negative review because it potentially affects the livelihood of a decent man. Our experience suggested the owner is currently unable to cope adequately with the load. July 2016 myself and my father stayed a Saturday night in the 'family room'. We never got to meet the owner, he had been called away that...

My dad came to visit me and to take care of some business for a week and this was the only place with vacancies on his budget. The owner called him on the phone at 6pm asking when he was going to check in. This seemed a little pushy, and it turned out it was so he could hand over...

I was greeted and shown through a very dirty and smelly office and kitchen to a bedroom at the back. I was asked if I'd need a towel, and was presented with a grey unpleasant towel. Unlike everything else, it had been washed. When I asked about breakfast (none was offered) I was told it was help yourself, and was...

Some-one local should report this establishment to the trading standards office. Avoid room 3, right next to bathroom/toilet. You will hear it going all night. No breakfast. Essentially, the owner couldn't care. Once he has taken your money, that is the end of his responsibility.

Wish I had noticed recent reviews on trip-advisor. Our experience was awful. The proprietor, who was friendly enough, left soon after we arrived telling us to phone him if we had a problem - which was ominous! The 'continental breakfast' involved searching in the kitchen for contents. We were not convinced that the bed linen was clean. The lads who...

Avoid B&B from hell...felt like a bail hostel stayed 5 minutes and left. Nothing redeemable about the place even owner disappeared. I was left alone with some very dodgy looking characters. Continental breakfast is a joke shut this place down. Felt relieved to leave.

Where to start...! Let's try to start with the positives. Free Wifi (albeit quite slow). Hmmm... and that's about it. Owner appeared friendly, but left the property soon after I arrived. Having booked & pre-paid online, I was given the "family room". Access is through the house's rather dirty & smelly kitchen, as well as through the owner's cramped little...

Stayed here while working in Aylesbury for 3 nights, I arrived at 8:40 and had to wait 35 minutes (after a rude phone conversation) for owner to arrive and show me to my 'room'. I was taken through the house and out the back to the shed like building in the garden. The facilities were basic and the walk from...

I too was booked in the Summer House and was somewhat surprised to be shown a glorified garden shed - I hadn't read the previous reviews of it. However, in it's defence, it was cosy and comfortable with a good heater, TV & WiFi plus coffee & tea making facilities. Having to go to the bathroom across the yard &...
