This is a lovely hotel. Warm welcome at reception and was shown to my room by the by a very friendly receptionist. Rooms are clean and well appointed with coffee/tea making facilities, iron/ironing board, mini bar and complimentary water. My favourite room had to be bathroom! Luxurious robes and towels, REN products, big bath and huge separate shower. I was...

We took my mother here for evening dinner and had a wonderful time. The waiter service was exceptionally good, they were very knowledgeable and well presented. The food was good, although there is room for improvement. I had the Beef Carpaccio for starters which was slightly lacking in flavor. The flowers looked pretty but added nothing to the taste. The...

First thing - I prepaid a couple of months in advance and a week or so before our stay I noticed that a premium room with breakfast was on a comparison site at the same price I'd paid for standard room with no breakfast. Called reservation team and to their credit they matched the offer - upgrading us. Tips: ask...

I work and stay in the Bristol area regularly but don't usually stay at the HdV as the pricing reflects the superior nature of the rooms, bathrooms and service. However, once in a while we spend the weekend somewhere nicer and the HdV is a great spot for a couples weekend. To echo somebody else's comments, the wifi does seem...

The hotel was a bit tricky to find whilst driving past in the traffic, but once I found it, it was actually quite obvious!! Great location, lovely room, fantastic bathroom. Wish I could have stayed longer. I normally hate hotel breakfasts, over priced and bland good, but here it was amazing, plus so many healthy choices. Worth having a breakfast...

I was on a business trip and had consistent issues with the wifi. It repeatedly dropped out, meaning I was unable to do any work. I asked on two occasions if the reception could assist me and the extend of their help was to suggest I try again, following exactly the same procedure that had already failed. In the end...

Stayed here one night, in a large room with terrace called 'Harveys'. Very comfortable, good facilities. Terrace would be excellent in good weather. Bathroom very nice, bed comfortable although the strange piece of wood around the outside leads to the occasional knocked ankle until you get used to it. Room was over heated and was told on checkout that they...

I'm sorry to be writing this review. We decided on this restaurant for a celebration and booked the hotel's special menu. The food was very ordinary, quite minimalist - who offers a steak pudding with no potatoes or veg? - and not hot enough. I really wanted the evening to be memorable, and it was, but certainly not, I'm afraid,...
