Great little place all spotless. Location couldn't be better. Staff all friendly and the breakfast was great. What I really liked was that the sash windows actually open - seems to be rare nowadays. I'll go back again. It's simple but just works.

My son booked this hotel for the weekend so we could visit my grandson who has just started at the University of Bristol so I have no idea of the cost but I understand it wasn’t cheap We arrived on Friday afternoon as we had tickets for the Bristol Bears rugby game on the evening We we’re allocated room 231 in the annex a very large room but has seen better decades Threadbare carpet, television that did not work, bathroom shower controls that were unmovable etc. As we were going out that evening it was too late to do anything about a move However the next morning we voiced our concerns to Taylor the manager and she was most helpful and moved us to a room in the main building which was much better. Breakfast was a bit of a joke with the requirement to select your time and food in advance probably a residue from COVID restrictions And the portions are not large so you might need a brunch later on Hotel location is good and the area was quiet at night Of the 2 stars I’ve awarded one is for location and the other is for Taylor the manager who made sure we were happy with the new room If only we had been allocated it in the first place

Arrived at hotel around 2.15 was unable to get in and wait inside so had to sit in our car till 3 when the reception opened. NOTE reception is only opened between 15.00 -23.00. Parking ok but don’t be to late getting there as the car park is not very large. Lady on check was very helpful. We were on the 2nd floor no lift and the rooms were quite small. Staff were very helpful and our room was very clean but unfortunately the towel radiator did not work so a bit chilly in the bathroom. Breakfast was very good you had to pre order the day before so no waiting around for your food. I would stay here again but not on the second floor.

Stayed 2 nights visiting family and the area. Great location. On- street parking was fine ( with voucher). Rooms good size and well-appointed. Square relatively quiet overnight. Breakfast was ok, and service good, but selection a bit limited even given the need to be safe. We left happy with experience and would use again.

Stayed recently for two nights. Receptionist was lovely, very friendly and helped us check in early. Accommodation was very dated with paint peeling off rusty radiator in the bathroom and the base of the bathroom bin. The lock on the bathroom door was completely broken. Shower head was broken and almost useless, it swung out of the way with the power of the water and it couldn't be adjusted to set it high enough to be useful. The bed linen was clean but the bed itself was actually too soft if anything, there was very little support in it. The worst thing was the lump of squashed dried-in faeces in the middle of the tiled bathroom floor. I didn't even mention this to my wife as I knew it would totally freak her out, I just cleaned it up myself. Couldn't recommend this hotel.
