We booked the Indigo Chef's Table for our annual Christmas treat with friends. Excellent food, wonderful service and overall a fascinating experience. We started with Canapés and Prosecco by the fire then moved through to the kitchen. Taster menu was 8 courses and they were beautifully presented and explained well by the chef involved. Evening was rounded off by coffee...

So pleased that we forgot to check trip advisor before booking! My husband is a wheelchair user and we need an accessible room. Good ones are hard to find. Had we read the recent review of East Lodge's easy access room we certainly wouldn't have booked. The room was a delight. Spacious, beautifully furnished, lovely views, and a car parking...

From the moment you pull onto the car park you sense the ambience of this hotel, it has a lovely welcoming feel that grows as you walk in and are welcomed. The room we were given had the most stunning view over the garden and lake, and after a hard days work it was lovely to be able to relax in...

Visited here passing through Rowsley the other day for a bit of lunch. It couldn't have been a better choice to pick! The surroundings of the hotel are amazing and breath taking. As I stepped inside I was greeted by a woman called Ally. She was very delightful and made me feel welcome and comfortable in minutes. Just simply doing...

Stayed as part of a wedding party last summer. The food and service at the wedding was excellent and the breakfast was lovely. The room was disappointing. Great room, but there was thick dust I noticed (I wasn't looking for faults) on the bedside tables and lamps and holes in the wall where the bedhead had been replaced and not...

We stayed at East Lodge for one night, to celebrate my husband's 61st birthday. The hotel is beautiful, traditional in décor and absolutely first class. As soon as we walked into the hotel it felt warm and inviting, the receptionist and hotel owner met us with huge smiles and kind words. They made our celebration very special. Our room was...

Just back from a night's stay. Cannot fault the staff, all so friendly and helpful. We stayed in a double room, it was on the smallish side for a double but the shower was smart and powerful. Great views from the room which had full sky TV. The decor could be improved but nothing that would put me off this...

We booked this hotel for a romantic gettaway as it looked great in the photos. The outside and first impressions were lovely. Staff were polite and friendly. We were given the easy access room. It smelled like someone had either died in there or pooped the bed and theyd tried to bleach the smell away. The decor would probably be...

Having read previous reviews and hearing on word of mouth from locals I was expecting a wonderful few days. The driveway to the hotel and the gardens are beautiful and one enters through a very nice bar/conservatory. We were very pleasantly welcomed by the receptionist and shown to our room. Here I think things go downhill a bit. The room...
