We booked at the "Grouse and Claret" in October for four for the festive menu, 2 course meal for £14.49 per person, because it is only 8 miles away from home. Marstons sent us an "early bird voucher" for £10 off our next meal before the 9th December. I made the booking on line and paid £5 each deposit, then... More

Service was fast, efficient and friendly. I ordered a steak which was cooked perfectly to my order and was asked if it was right when it was brought to my table which was a nice attention to detail. However it was not the best quality, very chewy and not much flavour. My family member order the rotisserie chicken with bbq... More

Came on a Sunday lunch, place very busy as expected. Asked to wait for table: fine. Ordered a sirloin sallad and fish and chips. Both came cold to start with. The sirloin came with a lot of fat, you would think it was a ribeye. Presentation was slapped on the plate, salad was tired, mushrooms missing and no beef tomatoes.... More

The food was excellent, the room was a little too hot and where we were seated it was too dark. If it had not been for the heat and the badly lit area where we were directed to sit I would have rated my visit 5.

Stopped here for dinner after visiting Haddon Hall nearby. The food was very average but the service was good. Nice spot but due to the food not being that great, I probably wouldn't return any time soon.
