This experience was one that I will treasure forever. All the staff, but especially my guide Lucio, went out of their way to show me all the best that the amazon has to offer. Piraña fishing, countless boat rides (in scorching sun and in the dead of night), the stunning animals, local tribes, shaman and villages and spectacular views made...

Our family group (4 adults and 3 children aged 7-12) spent 8 nights on the Amazon with Explorama: 3 @ Explorama Lodge, 4 @ Ceiba Tops & 1 @ El Dorado Plaza, Iquitos. Absolutely brilliant. Guide (Orlando) could not have been better with the kids. Lots to do. We caught (and later ate) piranas; nursed sloths, held an anaconda, had...

We spent two nights at Explorama and two nights at Ceiba Tops, both owned by Explorama Lodges company. I am reviewing them together although they are very different, but because we were with a small group and had one guide who accompanied us at both places, and he was very disappointing. The Explorama Lodge is very basic, as has been...

Primitive camp only. No hot water. Worn/stained towels and sheets. Unclean and stained wood floors. Flora and fauna are what you would come for. Do not expect comforts. This is like an old hunting camp, not a modern lodge. Think worn out boy scout camp. I will not come back or recommend.

This was such a great experience... if you want to see the Amazon river and rainforest, you should definitely book a reservation at Explorama and Explornapo. The guides are great, we had Raul and he was so knowledgeable and helpful. The lodges are so unique, and nobody should need to have air conditioning or a pool to be happy in...

Explorama Lodges allows you to build you rainforest experience--from luxury with air conditioning and hot water to Napo Lodge with outhouses and mosquito nets over the beds. The canopy walk shouldn't be missed. Black water lakes, sloths, tapir, monkeys, piranha fishing and so much more. The guides are from the region, speak English and will go out of their way...

I glanced at the other most recent review of the Explorama Lodge and agree that if you want or expect a luxurious resort, don't go here. The lodge I'm reviewing is not the Ceiba Tops with the pool as shown in the photo on this page. That one is closer to Iquitos on the river. Explorama is farther down river....

If you're looking for a five star resort with air conditioning and turn down service, don't go here. But if you're looking for an authentic jungle experience, come here and you will love it. We did. I read the reviews here before booking this lodge and was pleased to see that the services have improved from some of the earlier...

Back when we visited there was only electricity in the kitchen area. Open air rooms with mosquito netting. A wonderful way to experience the Amazon area and meet new people along the way. I hope to go back again!

We had a 3 days/2 nights stay in both explorama lodge and ceiba tops and are fully satisfied and really happy we made this amazing trip to the peruvian rainforest. Our guide showed us the top-spots of the area and gave us enough space and time for exploring on our own. The food was in both lodges delicious and the...
