We loved our experience spending a week in June. The new chef was well trained and creative with gourmet quality. He even was willing to clean and prepare our fish caught that day......excellent presentations on everything The staff is very attentive and wants to please. We had two excellent guides who took us on wonderful excursions. We always felt safe...

Returning yet again to Amazon Yarapa River Lodge (see my other review)...love this Lodge! Just when I thought there were no new Amazon experiences to be had, I was WOWed speechless one evening I'll never forget. The Lodge is situated right on the river's edge (the benefits of the cool river breeze are not to be underestimated). One starry night...

Let's get the negatives out of the way first. The cost of the rooms and experiences were $600 U.S a night I must admit I expected the accommodation to be better and the beer and wine to be cold. The accommodation was basic camp accommodation with fraying sheets and pillow cases. We had a wonderful time out on the river...

If you care about Mother Earth and the Amazon...often called the greatest expression of life on Earth...then the Amazon Yarapa River Lodge is for you. My first and lasting impression was the tour of this award-winning Lodge itself by Victor the Lodge Manager and his explanation of how the Lodge was built with conservancy as foremost, and how it operates...

Back Again! Can't get enough of the Amazon! Can't get enough of this lodge! BEAUTIFUL hand-made hardwood furniture with carvings on the dining room chairs, the beds, the desks and bar! The cool breezes from the riverfront are SO lovely while swinging in a hammock or sitting in a slingback chair! WOW! Everything is upgraded and the recycling, solar power,...

I was disappointed to find that there is no research center at yarapa - I felt a bit misled by their website. Cornell brings their students their for a week a year, and maybe they do research there, but it is not actually a research center, just a lodge. Also I was the only guest there. So it was just...

Traveling this time with my family including grandchildren, this was my second trip to the Amazon. I particularly enjoyed being in the midst of the jungle surrounded by the day and night sounds that I missed on the trip I took on a boat. The accommodations are rustic, but perfect. The entire staff is especially warm and inviting, clearly wanting...

Our family of six spent 4 nights in August as part of a two week trip to Peru and our stay at the Yarapa River Lodge was definitely one of our most memorable experiences. To repeat other reviews, the lodge is the real deal. You are smack in the middle of the jungle with all of the sights and sounds...

Highly recommend this beautiful, authentic lodge. Highlights include: attentive, kind, and extremely personable staff. Ability to tailor the itinerary to special interests (our guide, Ericson was passionate about helping us find all the birds and other wildlife on our list!). Delicious food, including local dishes (cerviche, fish soup) by request. We have already begun to recommend this lodge to friends...
