We came after dark from the Victoria ferry on our way to see the Christmas lights at Buchart Gardens, and found the Waddling Dog easily. It's a charming, half-timbered building with spacious, lovely rooms and old-world prints on the walls. Best of is the lazy basset hound and the excellent hot breakfast. About 10 minutes from the gardens, we will...

I went there to check in and it took 3 rings before the clerk came out. She got rude to the point where I cancelled my reservation. My daughter had reserved a room for Saturday and this clerk was the same with her and her family. We did nothing wrong and we were starting our vacation. Thanks Quality Inn!

I was there on business for 11 days. John V is a wonderful companion, Miss Gail at the front desk is about as sweet as can be, Reuben & Miss Elaine too. They are so helpful, breakfast is fresh and hot and the hotel ambiance from the early 1900's is just awesome. Every time you go for a stroll on...

This a great hotel to stay near airport. It is and English Tudor style hotel. Very good prices and excellent staff. The have a great pub and many food specials. Also have a great fish and chip special. Close to fast food restaurants. They also include a good breakfast included. If you want a good clean hotel at a great...

Stayed 1 night on choice rewards points. Looked ok on Internet, but first impressions not great. Desk clerk was not friendly at all, carpets very dirty in lobby and restaurant. The room itself was fine, but think the place needs a lot of improvements. The bar/grill seemed to be occupied by several foul mouthed individuals, so decided to order a...

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel and please accept my apologies for the less than friendly welcome that you received at check in. I agree that first impressions are so important and it seems that we fell short on this occasion. We are a small Inn and we are always striving to make our guests feel...

I stayed in this rather quirky hotel for 6 nights while I attended a course. The service and amenities were entirely good enough for me on this trip, and staying here helped me keep my costs down. Room was clean, wireless access mainly good, free breakfast was adequate. If you are looking for luxury this hotel will not be for...

We needed a single night near the ferries, and this fit the bill without the high cost of downtown accommodations. We had a humungous room where we could even fit our bicycles without their getting in the way. We had a queen bed that was comfortable, although the room could have easily fit a king bed. The decor is old-world...

The hotel is mock Tudor but with recent updates. Rooms clean and comfortable and continental breakfast more than adequate. Reception staff not exactly the norm and would benefit from a course in friendliness and customer service. Would stay there again as so convenient for the airport.

Well, what can I say...the staff was not very pleasant to talk to...staff was eating in front of guests... they could have cleaned the place better. If the have an issue with guests taking John 5th out for a walk They should let John stay in the back so people can't see him.. pretty flowers..

I am very sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your stay with us. We will continue to work to improve every aspect of our hotel, including customer service. John the 5th loves to be taken for a walk, and we appreciate it when a guest takes the time to do that. I am glad you enjoyed the flowers...

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. The fenced area that you are referring to is not open to the public. It is an area reserved for our resident basset John. While we clean this area regularly, we clearly had not done a thorough job the day you visited. I sincerely apologize for that and I will insure that...
