Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Amazing service, very unique loft cabins with a rustic/western themed decor, with full kitchens, Perfect size for a family weekend getaway, group staying in area for fishing, or a romantic weekend getaway. Beautiful views from the community style gazebo overlooking the harbour and bay. Very large dock perfect for your boat (s), nice walking distance from very popular Bradys beach. Highly suggest staying here if your planning a stay in the area!! We will be back for sure in the near future :)

Great little fishing lodge to stay at. Owner operators are very pleasant and helpful. Cabin was clean an cozy, not fancy. Basic amenities are there. We travelled in an off season so very quiet. Make sure to take flashlights for exploring at night in this time of year.

Thank you for your comment. We find hearing back from guests very useful. Your tip about flashlights is a very good one! In the city one takes for granted that there will be street lights outside one's door but here in Bamfield we've only the stars and moon to light the trails at night. Best regards.

I stayed here a couple of years ago and then again this past spring.I am writing this review as I was viewing the rating and other reviews about this proprty and I am concerned about a bunch of one off reviews propping this place up to a # 1 rating when IMHO it doesn't deserve it.
I have nothing against this place but believe fair reviews are important.
If you get the cabin at the front of the property that is best, you get a view and close proximity to the docks and shoreline etc but in the back it can be a good hike to get to your unit.
The facility doesn't appear to have had much upgrading and is showing its age.however both stays for me the units were clean which I find important
The owners are friendly enough but not overly so and at times I got the impression they would just as soon have the place to themselves
Units are rustic

Thank you for taking the time to post a review. We find feedback invaluable. We believe in fair reviews too and depend on them when we travel. 59% of the comments submitted about us are from 1st-time reviewers. It is interesting to note that the percentage of 1st-time reviewers for the business rated below us at #2 is similar. We send an email after each visit to thank guests for their patronage and to ask for their support either by following us on Facebook, Google+, our website blog, or by submitting a Tripadvisor review. Regardless of which media is selected, we appreciate the feedback and support. Regards.

The perfect stay to spend some good times in Bamfield. The cottages are absolutely lovely equipped with furniture that fits the ambience of Bamfield. Furthermore, Andy and Sherry are friendly and helpful hosts and we would love to visit them again in the Woods End Landing Cottages.

Woods End Landing and Bamfield were a real find. We arrived via the Frances Barkley and enjoyed two nights in the Angler cottage. The adjacent pavilion provided the perfect spot to grill a meal while enjoying the view of the inlet, and we built a fire the firepit area, Our hosts Terry and Miche kindly invited us to join them to see a comedy show on the east side, and we felt privileged to join the community that evening. The night was topped off by a fireside chat with our hosts.

Thanks Miche and Terry for a memorable time...hopefully we'll meet again.

Stayed for 2 nights in July in the Angler one bedroom cottage. Wildly overpriced for the quality of the accommodations. Beds are located in the living room and the other furniture is circa 1950s. No top sheets provided with beds. Only half of the burners work on the stove. Setting is beautiful but run down. Free use of rowboat is a nice touch. Service seemed grudging particularly pick up and drop off of luggage to the ferry. The Bamfield area is lovely but it would be better to stay elsewhere.

Thank you for your review. We take customer comments seriously and act upon them as soon as possible. Regarding your comment about the rate you paid, we polled our competitors and have confirmed that our rate for 4 persons, 4 double beds, in July, is in-line with other accommodations in Bamfield. We have updated our website to more clearly describe the layout of the Angler cottage so that future guests have a better understanding of what to expect. The beds in the Angler are made of logs and are bunk style. Their design makes using a top sheet/blanket/bedspread combination awkward therefore the beds are made up European style. The covers of the duvets provided are changed after every guest (and half way through stays of 7 days or more). For guests who wish to remake their beds in the style of their choosing, we now offer top sheets upon request. In the event that previous guests fail to report a problem, we have added checking stove burners to our cleaning checklist. I have spoken to on-site staff regarding luggage pick up and drop off. Again, thank you pointing out these issues. Best regards.

I highly recommend Woods End Landing. The cottages are beautiful and have everything you need for a comfortable stay. I spent a week there and loved the views and the sounds. So very quiet at night too and I must say I have never slept better than when I was there. The hosts are great and if you are lucky enough to have one of Terry and Miche's fabulous meals you will understand why everyone raves about the food!

A lot of work has gone into this collection of cottages tuck into the woods just a few steps to the water. It's a great place to relax and watch the boats floating by, the eagles flying overhead and the humming birds buzzing by. The cottages are quaint and nicely decorated. There are kitchens and BBQs and a great outdoor deck and fire pit for all the guests to use. Very private and out of the way.

Before we even got to Woods End Landing we knew our hosts were very accommodating and genuinely good people. We would have been arriving very late on the Friday night and Sherry very graciously offered for us to stay at their home in Port Alberni so we did not have to launch and arrive in the dark by boat or drive 2 hours down an awful gravel road notorious for taking your spare tire, and then "the other spare" one should have on hand as well for this particular road. They didn't charge us for the first night we missed at the cabin (even though it was our own fault we would have been arriving late) and for them to offer their home to people they had only spoke to on the phone exhibited amazing customer service and courtesy.

When we arrived Saturday, Sherry greeted us at the dock with her son Eric and helped us unload everything from our boat and drove our luggage etc. up to the cabin with their quad and trailer. My husband, myself and three of our friends stayed in the "Mariner" cabin which had everything we needed and more, it was clean and very well equipped. The themes and decor for each cabin were great! The boardwalk that takes you up to the cabins is surrounded by beautiful flowers and foiliage and each time you walk up or down to the water you see something new (and slowly get into shape while doing so!)

The closed in and covered "common area" coming up the walkway before the guest cabins was equipped with a BBQ and a lovely propane fireplace/ sitting area as well as an open fire pit outside as well. It had great ambieance and was an awesome place to unwind after a long day on the water. They had everything that a person could need to feel right at home. It was also great just visiting and getting to know Andy, Sherry, Eric, and also their hired hand Wyatt around the fire. Andy and Sherry are very knowledgeable about Bamfield and the surrounding area, and are very friendly people who you instantly feel comfortable around. Wyatt is a 16 year old who aspires to be a guide and I have no doubt that he will be one of the best in the business in the future! We took him out on our boat the last day and we started catching some serious fish! He took us to "zipper mouth rock" (as if I would give away his secrets...we plan to come back to this amazing place and need to stay in his good books...)

Woods End has a great fish cleaning/storage setup and is very well organized for anyone fishing while staying here. We felt totally comfortable leaving our belongings on the dock and boat.

This family has done an amazing job and the amount of dedication and hard work they have put into this place is easily recognizable. We couldn't have asked for a better experience staying here and would highly reccomend booking a getaway to Woods End. We would love to come back!
