This place is not the most modern place but it had good basic services and they stayed up late to meet those coming off the late night ferry. The beds have plastic mattresses, which are not the most comfortable but clean. The shower was warm but would like a bit more pressure. They have all the amenities most travelers want...

The ferry was delayed so we arrived at 2 in the morning, but the owner was still waiting for us and took the time to give us helpful tips! This is really exceptional! We had a room in the 'Otter Suite', which comprises about 4 bedrooms (which share a bathroom) and a large lounge are, kitchen with eating table and...

My friend and I stayed at the hostel the night before heading out for the North Coast Trail. We arrived at around 7 p.m., waited for Anne and then got the keys to our room. She was very helpful and provided information/maps for the NCT hike. She told us that Rob would open up the Cafe downstairs early for us...

My son and I booked a room before hiking the Cape Scott Trail. Anne who is the owner, met us at the door and was very friendly and knowledgable about the area. She gave us a tour of the Hostel and provided us with the maps we needed for the hike. We couldn't find the maps at any outdoor stores,...

Spent 1 night after a backpacking trip through Cape Scott. Needed a hot shower and a comfortable bed. Found both here, as well as a well stocked communal kitchen and living room area with sofas and TV. Anne, the owner was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Glad we choose to stay here instead of the the large hotel...

I really enjoyed my stay at this hostel. It was unusually clean and well-organized. I stayed in a private room which had a comfortable bed and clean linens with a nice view of the bay. You are sharing a hostel with other travelers, and there is a common room which is bound to be noisy. However in this hostel, people...

Cheap place to stay after arriving on the late ferry. Owners are friendly and helpful. When we were shown to our room there was a guy sleeping in it (he was ejected and the door entry code was changed), the owners handled it quite well and we were given another room where one of the doors didnt seem to lock...

The hosts were warm and welcoming when we arrived late in the afternoon, only a few other guests staying there on the off season and they made an extra effort to show us options for where we could stay in a private room. We chose one overlooking the ocean, waking up to sunshine the next morning so we found several...

I stayed at the hostel in the winter. I would recommend this hostel since they have nice, clean and spacious rooms. I appreciated the Christmas cactus plant in the private room and good mattress. We slept well. Washrooms are very clean and clearly marked male/female. Owners seem like they are honest and have integrity. It's very quiet at the time...
