James and Susan, owners of the Orange Tabby, truly go above and beyond in every aspect of their role as innkeepers. Both are superb cooks, gracious hosts and knowledgable residents of the northern island. They are attentive without being intrusive. Guest rooms are at ground level and very private. One of our party misplaced his wallet. How many hosts would...

James and Susan make sure that every detail is taken care of...from booking a tour with Larry (we saw bears and elk), making sure a dinner was waiting upon our return, raincoats for an adventure in the woods, homemade champagne (wish we could buy some of that in the states!) to toast my parents 50th anniversary, healthy and hearty breakfast,...

My husband Tim and I have never been to this part of the Island, so we were excited, but unfamiliar with the area and what to do when we got there. The owners, James and Susan were fantastic and the first thing we were asked is "What will be your adventure for today?" They know everything there is to do and...

What a wonderful place to stay and wonderful welcoming hosts. The breakfast was memorable and the whole experience unforgettable. To be invited out crabbing at low tide as friends rather than guests was the icing on the cake. The accommodation was spotless and comfortable. We will be back and feel that we have made friends for life.

I had the pleasure of staying at Orange Tabby B&B in Port Hardy during a trip to the north island in May. Susan and James were truly wonderful hosts and made me feel so welcome, like part of the family. They were most generous with their time and knowledge of the area which allowed me to experience some very special...

Unfortunately Susan was not around but James was a star. He was so kind and generous with his time. We had a great breakfast with some friends of his who were staying and learned so much about the local community and the challenges they have. Lots of laughs - a wildlife experience with Larry (don't miss this trip - ask...

James and Susan have the perfect B&B in the Wild North of Vancouver Island. Use Port Hardy as base to live the adventure. There's lots to explore, just go out and play. In comparison to the last time when we stayed here they now also have added a common room which gives the Orange Tabby even an extra dimension of...

My wife and I stayed and we were given a very warm welcome and looked after during our short stay. The room was newly decorated, well equiped and very comfortable. The additional facilities of the breakfast room and kitchen plus the lounge area were an added bonus. We departed early in the morning and a packed breakfast was readily provided...
