A good location to base yourself in. Walking/cycling trail a few hundred yards away. A short car ride to Carsington Reservoir, Blue John mines and tourist towns and villages. A very clean site with opportunities to caravan, tent, pod, yurt and motorhome. Very good shower block but some way from the tent area. Cafe, pub, shop and restaurant on site....

Our stay was okay, but we would likely look elsewhere. The bathrooms were clean. When we were there you had to walk to the office area to throw out trash. As someone else put the internet is pricey and you have to get emailed a code to use it. There were walking trails nearby which we enjoyed, but had to...

I have never stayed at Rivendale, but have eaten there often. Despite a couple of recent disappointments, I shall return, the location is central and in a beautiful part of the Peak District. The staff at Rivendale are friendly and efficient. I have until two recent disappointments found the food good, freshly prepared and enjoyable.

I recently stayed in the bed and breakfast accommodation at Rivendale as myself and my partner and mother were their for a family get together. The family were either staying in their caravans or in the b&b accommodation like ourselves. Firstly my cousin had taken up the offer of 3 nights for the price of two only to be told,...

We visited this site in 2000 not long after it opened. Liked it, and returned but are very disappointed to find the facilities are poor. Pitch is fine, plenty space and allowed to have 2 cars on pitch which is unusual. There is nowhere to empty grey waste except the elsan emptying points for toilets which are awful and are...

Thank you for your review - we are glad you liked the pitch. However, I am surprised by your comments regarding the waste disposals - which are unchanged since your last visit. The blue chemicals often contain highly toxic substances which are very bad for the environment (and for people) - for which reason they cannot be processed by our...

Camped! here over the Easter weekend. I say camped, it was not our usual struggling to put the tent up in the rain and wind but a basic pod. The pod was lovely and warm with a small light and we took along our airbeds and sleeping bags and other bits of camping gear, cooker etc. As the weather wasn't...

We had a 3 day break in our touring caravan at this site. It is a very well maintained site with excellent facilities. There is a very good cafe on the site and a pub which serves food on certain nights. The shower blocks are spotlessly clean and warm. The children's play area is very good. We had a really...
