Had an enjoyable time here - set in beautiful countryside. I had to pace myself as there was lots of food. Tea was tasty, albeit the china cups were too small for my liking. The dinner and wine was top notch - the salmon starter was huge. I wasnt hungry at breakfast time, but managed to eat the kippers. All...

My wife and I (and our 2 dogs) had a fabulous weekend break at Callow Hall. A beautiful building, set in a stunning landscape, this hotel comes highly recommended. However, this hotel will not suit all visitors. It's an old hotel, and therefore if modern amenities are what you want (like instant hot water), that's not what you get. However,...

This is a really good and very welcoming hotel. We booked at very short notice due to a poor experience at another hotel, the manager and staff at Callow Hall made both of us feel very welcome. The room was well decorated ad very well appointed, it also had very good views out across the valley, especially from the bathroom....

Set on it's own, no cars, no noise. Beautiful setting. Incredibly attentive, gentle, professional staff - made you feel quietly pampered. We had 2 children with us and still nothing was too much trouble. They also felt special. Would return for that reason. Food was excellent - on a par with London restaurants and locally sourced. We are happy to...

I cannot forget our afternoon tea at Callow Hall. It was a lovely warm day and we sat outside in lovely surroundings. The lady manager was charming but the tea was scrumptious . Beautiful sandwiches and the cakes were so fresh and yummy. Could not be improved on. Cannot wait to go again.

We had a recent overnight stay with dinner. The staff were first class, and very attentive, and our evening meal was superb. The wine list was also very good with some excellent reasonably priced wines. Our room was comfortable, but was slightly tired. A little refurbishment should be considered. Overall a very pleasant stay. We would definitely return.

The staff were very attentive without being overbearing and the food was excellent, both in quality and choice. The location is quiet, yet within a short drive of Ashbourne and the rest that Derbyshire has to offer. The views from the "house" (and from our room) are most attractive. The new hotel owners really should make more of the grounds...

We visited to celebrate our wedding anniversary on Valentines Day and had a superb meal with excellent service from the young enthusiastic members of staff. OK, it was quite expensive - but worth it! Recommended.

Called in for lunch in February, the whole place was COLD this is the first rule you cannot go out and be cold. All courses were good except my starter, Pigeon, which was inedible, to be fair this was deducted from our bill after we complained, the original bill was £99 going some for lunch plus two drinks each !!...
