This is a perfect little cozy get-away for either a long weekend or a holiday week. The Auberge has a restaurant that was fully booked by a large wedding party during our stay. The Host was able to recommend an excellent alternative though so we still had a memorable dinner. Breakfast was available though and every morning we had a... More

Not the easiest town to find, but we got directions from a friendly local on the way. The parking is just outside the inner gates, a little confusing on one's first visit. Inside there is a lake, a walk and generally a peaceful atmosphere. Some of the rooms are up a fairly steep staircase so if you have trouble with... More

We had a warm welcome from Bernard after a horrendous, delayed journey from England due to tunnel problems. The room was small and basic but sufficient for our needs. My husband and I spent a day beside the pond watching the wildlife and him fishing. Food was delicious and spoilt us for the rest of the break as we had... More

First impressions were poor as the signs were ragged and dirty and the reception room very dark. However, altho it was nearly a ladder to reach the room and the room was slightly musty, the sheets were spotless, ironed white cotton and the bathroom was clean. The hosts are lovely and very keen to please. So they have the most... More

With what proved to be prophetic irony, we were driving to L’Auberge du Bord des Eaux and singing along with Mary Hopkins and “Those Were the Days”. This is the problem with L’Auberge du Bord des Eaux. When we were two young things, just out of College and France was a foreign country where everyone spoke French and ate French... More

We found this place on the internet whilst in France holidaying on camp sites. The weather took a turn for the worst and rained for a couple of days so we decided to book in for an evening. The landlord was extremely friendly and really lovely. The room was basic but at the time of booking we did not choose... More

A great place to stay over before you return on the ferries to England. It is just off the motorway and gives plenty of time to go shopping in the supermarkets for wine and beer or visit Lille or Bruges on the way to Zeebruge. The accommodation is basic but excellent value. We opted for half board at 31E each.... More
