The staff are friendly and very helpful. Gave us lots of options for restaurants and grocery marts. Our room had an amazing view. The sunsets were unreal. The rooms are larger than average and include a soaker tub with Epsom salts provided. Amazing experience and lovely area for walks.

Hello C2559AXlisab, Thank you for your wonderful review of your stay with us, and for your kind words about our wonderful staff. You lucked out on the weather during your stay. The sunshine was so beautiful this week after six weeks of rain. The stars were so bright in the night sky. One can glimpse out the sky lights in the Lodge Great Room through massive trees at the stars while sitting in a cozy couch by the big stone fireplace. A good soak in those tubs soothes sore muscles after a long walk on Ucluelet's fabulous Wild Pacific Trail. We are happy to hear this was your experience. We hope to have the chance to host you again. Warm regards, Emma and the Cabins team

Our daughter bought us a two night off-season special as a Christmas gift. We're elderly but still have a spirit of adventure. We went despite the forecast of a hurricane force winter storm with a heavy snowfall thrown in for good measure.
We were met at the check in desk by a cheerful young woman and a shy but friendly dog. She advised us that we were the only guests in the lodge which was kind of creepy on the one hand but cool on the other. When you take into account the location of the lodge overlooking the beach and the huge room with a vaulted ceiling and a fireplace, it was magnificent. In addition, we had a jetted hot tub and a king size bed with a mattress to die for. I can sleep just about anywhere but my wife is fussy and she liked the mattress so much she would have taken it home with us.
Sure enough, the storm struck with a vengeance. Howling winds, trees bending to a point of snapping and branches flying everywhere. All this accompanied by a rare West Coast blizzard. Just when we thought it couldn't get any worse, the power went out. Fortunately, the fireplace was gas operated so we switched it on and snuggled in front of it, she with a glass of wine and me with some locally brewed beer.
Overall, the two night experience exceeded our expectations and we hope to do it again. When we checked out, there was a different young woman with a different dog. Both were friendly and the dog wanted to jump up on me which worried its owner. We like dogs so there wasn't a problem.
The only downside to our experience had nothing to do with the Lodge. There isn't a whole lot to do in Ucluelet during early January. Many places are closed so that owners and staff can have a break before the real tourist season begins later in the year. We also got the feeling that a small number of locals wanted to have a break from tourists and were rude and unfriendly. We also had a couple of incidents with aggressive drivers. On one occasion, we were driving out Peninsula Rd when a couple of young men in a black Ford pick-up started tail gating us as we were passing through a school zone. This was extreme tail gating. So close that a piece of paper would not have fit between their truck and our car. I would have pulled over but because of all the snow piled on the sides of the road, there was no room. This continued until we reached a stop sign further down Peninsula Rd. We stopped, as we usually do for stop signs at which point the young men drove around me through the stop sign mouthing expletives and giving us the finger. Uculelet is one of the last places I would have expected this type of behavior, but I guess there are jerks everywhere.

Hello William M thank you for your fantastic review of your stay with us at Cabin Nation! The road here may be long, and windy, but it’s all part of the adventure! We are so happy that you braved the elements to visit us. The drive is always well worth it! Our Guest Services team is fantastic, and there usually is a dog at the Cabin Nation Check In Center. It sounds like you met my shy girl Maera, and Joanna’s friendly dog Smelly! Smelly is usually tired from her life with the adventurous Joanna, and can be found sleeping behind the front desk. Seems you caught Smelly on a day she had a lot of energy! Storm watching season is a fantastic time of year to come to Ucluelet. The power of the wind and the waves is thrilling! I must admit, I love power outages! When there’s a gas fireplace to keep you warm, a glass of wine and some ambient candlelight power outages are such a cozy experience. We equip our rentals with power outage kits which include flashlights, because power outages are a reality out here ‘life on the edge’! We are so happy you loved your Lodge suite. Thank you so much for all your kind words. We give each guest an orientation upon check in, outlining things to do, see, places to eat, etc in Ucluelet. You’re right, there aren’t many businesses open in January, however, there are some hidden gems, and we are sure to point our guests in the right direction. I am sorry to hear it sounds like you experienced some road rage in Ucluelet! In a school zone no less! Unbelievable! I am not sure who was tailgating you, but I have lived here for years, and I have never had such an unpleasant experience. I hope your experience with our friendly staff made up for your experience with the unruly black pickup truck! We hope to have the pleasure of hosting you again William! You were an absolute pleasure to host! Kind regards, Emma and the Cabins team

Hopefully not all the rooms in the lodge are like room 22. My husband and I recently booked a stay in the lodge, looking at the photos online I had high hopes.
We were given room 22. Ground entrance room with an ocean glimpse off of the deck. We knew there was only one room in the lodge that didn't have a jacuzzi, and room 22 was that one. I thought maybe they'd make up for it by having something nicer than the other rooms but they didn't. The room didn't even have a picture on the wall. Literally not one wall hanging of any kind. We stared at one giant white wall. The bathroom didn't have hooks to hang your towels, and if you wanted to put your face cloth anywhere they drilled a screw into the grout of the shower for you to use.
They have self pumping shampoo, conditioner, and body soap which is fine. But the conditioner was clogged so you had to take the lid off of container and scoop it out with your hands which made an awful mess. If someone is staying in the room above you, be prepared to hear everything, even them turning on their water. We paid for a cleaning fee, but they have instructions for you to strip your own bedding and put it in the bin along with your towels to help out Housekeeping. Why would I strip the bed if I'm paying a fee to have it done?! Lighting in the parking lot is very poor...actually there just isnt lighting at all so prepare to use a flashlight if you happen to come in after dark. Hard to believe we'd ever come here again. I hope the cabins are nothing like this as they are building new ones on site.

Hello alatimer20, When you made your booking did you read the room description on our website? Look at the photos and do the video tours? We publish this information on our website so that guests are empowered with all the information that they need to make a booking. We would love to hear from you to know how you think our advertisement of this suite could be more clear. Correct. There is no art on the walls in suite 22, which you see in the published pictures of the Deluxe Lodge Suites online. There are big windows, and a sliding door with a beautiful balcony that has a view of old growth spruce and cedar trees instead of art on the walls. Although we advertise it as 'rainforest view' you can even see the ocean from suite 22. There is a tree right above your balcony that a bald eagle is often perched upon. Pretty awesome to look at in my opinion! Yes, we use self pumping dispensers for shampoo, conditioner and body wash in our rentals to eliminate unnecessary waste of single use plastic. We wish that you had let us know that your conditioner was clogged as we would have had someone fix this for you right away. Suite 22 has a large accessible rainforest shower equipped with two shower heads, and a fold out platform to sit on while in the shower if one choses. There is a towel rack right next to the shower. Yes, we have a tote for used linens in all rentals. No, we do not ask our guests to strip their beds. We are a small property management company, and cleaning fees are common within our industry. Again, this cleaning fee was advertised prior to you making your booking. We hope that the next time you make a booking you take the time to read room descriptions prior to making your booking. We manage some very lovely stand alone ocean front cabins that you might love, and the new cabins which are being built are going to be stunning! Kindly, Emma and the Cabins Team

We have been wanting to stay in one of the seaside cabins for a while and finally decided to and it did not disappoint! We stayed in cabin 3, Ocean Pearl, and absolutely loved everything about it. It is well laid out, gorgeous view, a decent amount of privacy AND has a private sauna and jacuzzi tub with an ocean view. The cabin had everything we needed to cook and live comfortably. Best of all, we were able to bring our dog! They offer some pet friendly accommodations and are so great about the pets. They even provide some treats, a towel to wipe their paws and poop bags. We will be back, thank you to all the amazing staff!

My wife and I stayed 3 nights at cabin number 21 on the main floor level at the lodge FOR ADULTS ONLY. We paid about $962.55 for 3 nights. It was very noisy for all three nights. We even had our ear plugs on. The people upstairs were running across the room and stomping/thumping for all 3 nights . It was as if there were children upstairs. We could hear the patio /balcony door opening and closing quite loud. The room was not insulated very well so we heard lots of noise from upstairs , even when they showered late at night. We wanted to get a good night's for the next days activity (example hiking) but this was not to be. It was very quiet and serene outdoors but not inside the lodge. There was nobody from the lodge that we saw: except the maid once, when she was cleaning one of the rooms when people left nest door. We initially picked up the key in the main office and there was nobody there. We got the key in an envelope from the main office. There was no service at all (because of covid ?). Our other family members stayed at the place next door (they had their own cabin with a kitchen and they had a very quiet peaceful time)

Dear dbwtraveller, thank you for your honest review. It sounds like you had some very disrespectful guests above you in the Lodge and we are so sorry to hear that! Yes, as advertised and included in your confirmation emails prior to your stay, the office is closed due to covid and we have switched to a 'self check in - self check out' system. We have had very positive feedback from our guests regarding the new system. Guest Services is in the office every day 10 am - 6 pm. You received an 'arrival package' upon arrival containing information such as our contact number and instructions to please call or email if you should need anything at all during your stay. We did not receive any calls or emails from you while you were our guest. We wish you had let us know about your experience with the guests above you so that we could have made this right for you, perhaps we could have spoken to the guests above you or perhaps we could have moved you to a different suite. We are a small property management company and manage several different types of rentals for owners. It sounds like your family members stayed in one of our beautiful 'stand alone' cabins with a kitchen. We manage ocean view cabins and rain forest view cabins, and we would love to host you in one of these cabins another time in the future! Kindly, Emma and The Cabins Team

I was a bit worried about cleanliness and facilities after reading reviews about BBQ's, utensils, and units being worn, but we were pleasantly surprised! We were in a one-bedroom in the Sabbatical (#11) and the unit was super clean, updated, fully stocked with all of the kitchen stuff we needed. The BBQ was clean and new, we loved having in suite laundry facilities, bedding was very nice, and out dog loved his stay too :-) The bowl, bags, treats, and many disposal stations were appreciated and there was lots of floor space in the suite for the dog bed we brought with us.

The balcony was big with a lovely cove view and I did yoga out there every morning listening to the bell and whistle buoys and barking seals. Great location to walk to Terrace Beach and Little Beach.

Self check in was super smooth. We got the wrong key and after a quick phone call it was fixed within minutes. Frankly, I hope that the self check in that accommodation places have implemented due to COVID remains permanently because it is so easy!

We would absolutely stay here again. The only con was that the water views we wanted weren't available becasue those suites aren't pet friendly.

Hello Starkerama08, Thank you for your great review of the Sabbatical Suite #11 and your experience at Cabin Nation. We are glad you were able to bring your pup on vacation with you and we hope your pup enjoyed the healthy treats and the long strolls on the beach. We are a small property management company and manage 33 different rentals. The views from the rentals are all published in the room description. There were no Ocean Front Cabins available for the dates you booked, however next time please note for that we have four pet friendly ocean front cabins which we would love for you to experience. We love to hear that you enjoyed your yoga whilst listening to the soothing sounds of the buoys and sea lions from your suite. This morning as I write I can hear the buoys and the sound of the fog horn as it is a beautiful foggy west coast day. Thank you again for the great review we are so happy to hear that your stay was beyond your expectations and we hope to see you again. Kindly, Emma and The Cabins Team

My Daughter, myself and her dog stayed 2 nights in the two bedroom 2 bath Sabbatical suite and throughly enjoyed it. This unit is very large, high ceilings, main bedroom on first level, second on second floor along with the living areas. Kitchen had the basics to prepare meals while enjoying the view of the rainforest. There are two large sliding doors to a large balcony, you feel like you are in a treehouse.
It's a short walk across the road to Terrace Beach, even being on the main road, it's Ucluelet and very peaceful.
We would definitely book this suite again or maybe try a different suite closer to the beach.

Hello Terri M, Thank you for your great review! The Sabbatical suites truly are a 'home away from home'. These suites were designed to 'live in' and provide all the necessary comforts of home for your west coast get away. This week we had a wolf howling in the cove behind spring cove. Stunning to experience! As you know, we are a small property management company and manage 33 rentals. We would love to host you in one of the Ocean Front rentals next time. If you like the idea of being up in a 'tree house' might I suggest our Ocean front 'Nest Cabin'? This cabin has a stunning view of Terrace Beach from up on a hill in the trees. We hope you brought the dog for a hike on the beautiful Wild Pacific Trail Light house loop while you were here! We look forward to hosting you again Terri! Kindly, Emma and The Cabins Team

My group of 6 enjoyed our stay at the Hidden Treasure Cabin. The 3br unit was spacious and clean.
One of the sinks was blocked. I messaged the cabin staff to check it out. They promptly resolved the issue.
One of the bathrooms has a 2 person shower , another one has a steam shower with heated floor. I thoroughly enjoyed the steam shower after a day of long hike.
On the day of checking out, we had to undo all the bedding including the duvet and put them into laundry bins. We happily complied, as it reassured us that everything we used was previously washed and clean.

This is our first trip in 18 months. We felt safe staying at the Cabin.

The location of our beachfront unit was very nice with nice sunset views.
That was the only positive to this unit the Karma. The list of deficiencies are too long to list but, here are the highlights. On arrival the entire unit smelled of fish and many surfaces, including the fridge and bbq were still soiled and fishy smelling. Wonder, that check In is later due to EXTRA cleaning during covid....NOT. The unit is run down by any standard (photos) let alone premium pricing of this unit.Mold in the shower..Yuk.
Broken floor tiles. Rusted and filthy bbq. Cheapest of chairs on the deck. Bedroom with broken blinds, forget privacy. No closet door with huge fan using up All usable space.
Kitchen has a miniscule bar sink for your cleanup NO DISHWASHER. Most of the utensils were worn to throw away point and questionable cleanliness.
Very disappointed with this property as their website depiction shows modern renovated units not like yhe one I am staying in. This is very misleading.

Response from , Owner at The Cabins At Terrace Beach
Responded 15 Sept 2020
Hello, Please understand that we are a Property Management Company vs. a Resort or Hotel. We manage 13 different types of nightly rentals to choose from, and we encourage guests to invest a little time on our website browsing their options before selecting a cabin or suite. Through our website, we do our best to be transparent and empower each guest to book a rental that will best suit each guest needs. Every one of our 13 rental options offer a video and photo gallery, a full description of features and the location on the property. I would like to address each of Dojo_10's comments about this rental now. YES, the Cabin Care Team does follow a COVID-19 Protocol list of tasks that takes more time than it did in the past to clean a cabin. Anytime previous guest cook fish we do our very best to remove any and all signs of the fish smell. Previous guests have until 11:00 AM to check out however this doesn’t mean the Cabin Care team starts cleaning at 11:00 AM and in this case the team started cleaning the Cabin at 2:30PM we opened all the windows to help remove the fish smell the best we could in the time we had. As per this guest's request our team delivered air freshener to the cabin immediately after the guest checked in at which point this guest pointed out their own sensitivities to the scent of fish and the low tide ocean smells. We were sure to let this guest know that if they needed anything else during their stay that they could reach us by phone or e-mail. As for the BBQ, the owners replace BBQ’s at the beginning of every season, being that we are ocean front the BBQ’s do rust; we are well known in the community to give away 1-year old BBQ’s every year to locals. Yes, previous guests let us know they broke the bedroom blinds, new blinds were ordered and replaced the next day. Yes, the bifold doors to the closest were removed a long time ago because they were small and rather sensitive and kept being falling off the track. This complaint about not having a bifold door on the small closet is a first. Most guest thank us for the fan vs. complain about it being stored in the closest. NO, there is not mold in the shower. We do however have to re grout every year because of the heavy minerals in the district water and the nature of the cabin’s location being on the ocean and in a rainforest. Correct, there is no dishwasher, that is why we don’t include a dishwasher in the cabin description on our website. The photo this guest posted of the kitchen was how they left the cabin, not how the kitchen looked upon checking in. This is misleading. Most all of the issues that this guest had could have been resolved during their stay if they had simply asked our staff. “Guest love Cabin Karma” we would ask anyone reading our reply to this guest review to go to the website and review our description, video and photo gallery of Cabin Karma, we feel what we disclose, and showcase is the absolute opposite of misleading. We have noticed that this guest has left a negative review on trip advisor for all the recent locations they have visited….. perhaps this is a trend on their part? If you drive there are a number of restaurants within 5 minutes, ranging from Fast Food to 4 & 5 star. We found a brick-oven pizza place that is mostly takeout, but really incredible a creative experience in taste. Also the hotel that looks over the ocean has a great 4 star restaurant that was not only a wonderful food experience but the atmosphere & views were spectacular.

Is there any place outside to have a campfire?
Answer from Doug D

Yes there are some fire pits, but they are not associated with a particular cabin so I guess it's first come first served. We were more interested in the jacuzzi so I confess we didn't look too closely at the fire pit situation.
