Our room was completed using the building-block motif. The room was musty smelling and the sheets were the same. The beds look like they had been quickly made-up and caused me to question how fresh they were. TV and mini-fridge worked fine. Owner is quite nice, and the motel itself has a great view of Head Lake, across the highway....

The Silver Maple Motel is located on Highland Street overlooking Head Lake. It is a short walking distance from restaurants and stores and very reasonably priced. A basic, clean motel which lived up to our expectations. We have stayed here before and will probably return when we are in the area.

Not the best place...but it's cheap could use new sheets for sure but everything else is well organized had coffee cups and a fridge that was clean. TV was a nice unexpected amenity. Will see how the night goes. I'm supposed to fill 200 words but I've run out of things to say...

Popped in last minute during a snowmobile trip. Friendly at the front desk - rates were very reasonable at $99. Room was clean with a mini fridge and cable TV. There was also WiFi. The part that was a huge surprise - the restaraunt that is attached is incredible. We had a monster, home cooked breakfast for $7.50 each. They...

I really don't understand how some reviews are at ALL positive! Did these people walk in blind folded?? Oh my gosh...The bedspread had holes in it and had yellow stains on the underside, bedding was old, smelt and the blankets course and gross. Mattresses had stains on them and oh yes..the useless ancient pillows didn't even have pillow protectors on...

All in all by far the worst place I have stayed. I am an electrician who travels a lot and has stayed in multiple motels over the years. This place is barely worth staying a night and I had to stay for a couple weeks so I really got to see its worth. Internet never works, rooms smell terrible like...

Very basic. But ...Water in the shower was hot and adequate. Air conditioning worked, though we didn't need it. Beds were comfortable, although the bedding looked like it was from a thrift shop. Satellite TV and Internet worked, as did the wee fridge. Nothing fancy but walkable to the Haliburton School of the Arts, and downtown library, restaurants, grocery store....

I have stayed at this motel years ago and it was old BUT it was always clean every visit. Now under new management I thought I would try it. I was in Haliburton with family so we all stayed at the motel but in three different rooms. My moms room smelt like pee. My uncles room smelt musty and of...
