Stationmasters Hostel is really a holiday house on Loch Carron! The location is a stunning Scottish Loch in a quiet village, adding a lovely country feel to the trip. The house is well furnished and looked after, although being over 100 years old. I would love to rent out the house for a weekend again! Would recommend to others :)... More

You may feel a bit stranded here, as there is literally the hostel and a couple of houses in the direct vicinity but it is well worth a visit!! Very peaceful with gorgeous views and only 5 minutes drive to the nearest town with pubs and restaurants. The rooms and bathrooms were spotless, and the atmosphere in the lounge/kitchen was... More

Please believe them when they say there is no civilization around (if you don't have a car). The views are so gorgeous and it's a beautiful place right in the lake. Conveniently close to the train station, and a great place to stay before Kyle/Skye—just make sure to bring food and supplies. The owners are so friendly and helpful, and... More

Wonderful views of beautiful landscapes and Loch Carron. Can't imagine a more beautiful environment than this. Felt like I was walking in a past age when looking at the nature around me, yet I felt so relaxed with the people here. The staff in particular made me feel like I was welcome and at home. A perfect balance between finding... More

We had a brilliant holiday at this hostel. Ewan and Kath were amazing hosts. The location is stunning and anyone who cannot see this needs to be certified. The rooms were very clean and tidy and we were given our own key (security was very good). The fact that this hostel is in the middle of nowhere makes it extra... More

Can't say one bad thing about the place. The rooms and common room are very pleasant, even cosy. The staff is friendly and helpful beyond what one expects. The location is somewhat lovely. Would recommend to anybody.

I was up on a training course in Achmore and decided to return to the hostel, I wsnt disappointed. Ewan's place is still warm, comfortable, reasonably priced and the friendliness is a really positive feature. You also get the chance to meet really interesting people, have a chat, share food, wine or beer I will return later in the year... More

Stationmasters Hostel is an absolutely lovely hostel in the tiny village of Stromeferry. We were 3 girls and all of us loved it there - great location at a lake, where you can relax perfectly. You should rent a car though as a car makes it much easier to get there and see the surroundings. Nice rooms, good kitchen and... More

“Tips & Tricks: Bring some things to cook! Try asking around the butchery and seeing if they have local dishes for you to try your hand at and spend some time in the kitchen. There aren't any good take-out places nearby but that's sort of the point isn't it? The hostel is quite clean, didn't even have to unroll a sleeping bag. There is a window to the left of the fireplace in the living room with a tartan cushion. This is the perfect place to watch the sun come up and spot some otters without having to leave the warmth of indoors. Ask them to strike up a bonfire! Don't spend all of your time on you computer! Yes they have wifi but they also have miles of hiking trails and great Scottish hospitality, take advantage!”
