We turned up in Auckland very early in the morning and although only a small guesthouse our hosts did all they could to help us relax and prepare for the day ahead- including a life saving cup of tea! After nipping out to Auckland across the ferry from literally on the doorstep we relaxed for a couple of hours in...

Brian and Jay took care of us long before we arrived and created a great itinerary for the rest of our travels through NZ. We recieved prompt replies to our online reservation, questions, and concerns. Brian so wisely arranged a 'meet and greet' car to pick us up at the airport at 5:15am that safely took us to the No....

Lovely place to stay and great breakfast. Really friendly and good information on things to do. Located a short walk from the ferry so you can leave the car behind. Definitely worth staying here.

My partner and i just recently stayed at No.1 House whilst on a round the world trip. On our arrival to the house we immediately saw a welsh flag put out for us, which was brilliant! Brian, Jay and Bella are so very warm and friendly and welcomed us into their home. And they also arranged the airport transfers for...

No 1 House is tucked under Auckland Bridge at Northcote Point. We stayed in the Green room which has a very comfortable four poster bed, the bathroom is across from the hall way which wasn't a problem for us. The view from our bedroom and the lounge was stunning, across the waters towards the skyline of Auckland harbour. The ferry...

This was my last night in New Zealand and would have loved to have stayed longer. Great location, wonderful view (unfortunately it rained when I was there but was still great). Ferry a stone's throw with a fast ride to the city. Great breakfast, wonderful hospitality.

The hosts are extremeley friendly and willing to take guests swimming and for trips on the family boat. The breakfasts were provided for us to cook as much or as little as we required on a particular day. They provided excellent assistance for planning of trips out. The rooms are great and the beds spacious and comfy. The views across...

If you're weighing up whether to go for Number 1 or one of the slightly cheaper Auckland City/Airport hotels (assuming you get a special!) go for Number 1. Amazing 200 degree panorama of Auckland, private beach, monarchs, a hobbit house, wonderful hosts. The only thing that we were a little annoyed about was that we forgot to take a photo...
